The captions for the Tier 2 Mixed Division are actually switched… it should read:

Masquerade = Showmanship
The Music Machine = Musicianship

Congratulations to all the groups that performed in Advanced Mixed Divisions at Xtravaganza! What a great lineup! And thanks Los Alamitos HS for hosting!

Oh, Homewood. That was everything. Thank you for making the trip all the way out here to share with us. I hope you could feel the love from the audience. And that BAND. I'm a puddle.

Does Los Al give a limit on set up time or penalties seeing it on the live that show is amazing I wish more groups from all over made the trip to Cali is a true treat to see other types of show choir

There is a time limit, but changing out the risers does not count towards that. I believe that was a big chunk of the time difference because the risers are twice as tall in California as they are in the South and Midwest. Also some sort of light issue as well, but I don’t know if it was one of Homewood’s lights or a stage light. If it was Homewood’s light, then it would count against them. If it was Los Al’s, then it wouldn’t because it would be out of Homewood’s control.

I know some schools like center grove have like their own risers I didn’t know the Midwest and other parts use different risers then the Cali groups. I appreciate the info

I figured it out when we rehearsed on Los Al’s stage back in 2013. My muscle memory was so off that rehearsal that I almost fell multiple times. Ended up fracturing one of my knuckles ant the rehearsal on Thursday morning and had it healed enough to perform by the show Saturday night. X-ray on Monday afternoon confirmed that I both diagnosed and treated the volar plate fracture correctly (and definitely not because it was the third one in a little over a year).

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I, too, am sad they turned the livestream off before Los Al’s Exhibition. Luckily I found their show on YouTube, if anybody else is interested
