I did find out how it went in prelims, and this is what it was:
1st: Eisenhower
2nd: Manteno
3rd: Danville
4th: Pekin
5th: O'Fallon

Loved this competition - it was a great way to start off the season.

For what I saw:

PBL has really gone leaps and bounds this year. If they add a full band and a costume change, I think that they could very easily become a great group in the next few years.

Manteno was quite awesome. I loved the show - it is very cool. Vocals were great as always, as well as choreography. Can't wait to see how you do in the future.

O'Fallon's show was very, very cool. They had some awesome dancing, and it was technical. You really were kept in the mood watching them. I think if they can get their vocals tightened up they should do pretty well this year.

Danville, where the heck did you come from? You guys were phenomenal! Great vocal sound, great choreography! A very well deserved GC for the day. I can't wait to see how you progress over the season.

As for Faces and Cavs, you have some really cool shows this year! I'm really excited to see how well you will do this year - I'm sure it will be another fantastic year for you as well.

That's all I really got to see, but I heard Eisenhower was fantastic as always. I want to thank everyone at Crete Monee for putting on a fabulous competition - one of my favorites in my four years. I cannot wait to see how everyone progresses throughout the year. I'd also like to thank everyone for the kind comments about Pekin - they are greatly appreciated and I'm glad that you all enjoyed the show. For those of you headed to Mt. Zion Saturday, I will see you there! And one again, congrats to Danville on a full sweep of the competition, with taking home Junior High, Single-Gender, and Mixed Division GCs! See you all again soon!

I can only tell you that Manteno was in second heading to finals. Unfortunately, some technical glitches affected Magic and they had no piano.

Some observations:

For a small school, Paxton BL has really stepped it up.

Pekin's Knights of Cydonia number was my favorite tune. Outstanding. Nick's solo was great as well as the female solo in "Rolling in the Deep"

(of course, I really like Manteno Magic's "Through The Fire and The Flames" but for the sake of impartiality....)

O'Fallon's "Bring Me To Life" was also an excellent closer. Well Done.

I thought Crete Monee's closer (in exhibition) was outstanding also....as well as their guys "Zombie" number.

Eisenhower EE ...great vocals as always. The silver dress was great.

All the schools in finals were close. Probably could have flipped a coin.

Also, Rolling Meadow's girls group did not compete. Anyone know prelims ranks? I didn't know if anyone was okay with posting them because I know how secretive they can be sometimes.

Only a few days until Illinois has it's first competition of the season.... Haha I'm pretty stoked. Still nothing on a few predictions or expectations? There's 5 spots in finals for any high school group.
