Fairfield Pure Elegance: WOW. That is all I can say. The show was easily one of my favorite girls group shows ever, and your finals performance completely blew me away. I don't know why you placed 6th, because honestly I think you deserved 4th. Keep working hard- it's only January and I really think you ladies will have a fantastic season.

As a spectator of both prelims and finals, I have to say that I was confused/disappointed with the final results. No disrespect to any group that competed, because all groups in finals were fantastic, but the final placements were a lot different than I had them.

Franklin Central High Voltage: The energy you have is incredible. Choreography was clean and vocals were very polished for this early in the season. I felt more energy from you in prelims, but both performances were great. Congrats on placing so high against high caliber mixed groups!

Hurricane Red Hot: Your choreography is one of the cleanest year after year. You all really leave your hearts on the stage, and it shows. Your finals performance was miles better than prelims, in my opinion. I look forward to seeing you guys again later in the season, because I think your show has a lot of potential.

Franklin Central FC Singers: Always a force to be reckoned with. Very strong vocals, and incredibly clean choreography for this early in the season. The FC groups always have an energy about them that you remember. Congrats on 1RU; I look for you to have a great season.

Solon Music in Motion: I can't explain enough how impressed I am by you guys. I've always been a Solon fan, and in the past few years I have grown to enjoy your shows more and more- but this show looks like an entirely different group. It is clear that you all love what you are doing, and I can tell you've worked very very hard to get to where you are. Start polishing the little things, and finding more ways to connect with your show, and I think you could be taking home more GC's this year. Just keep working hard and pushing your show further, because it has potential to be unstoppable. So happy for you guys!

Fairfield Choraliers: A very different show for you guys, and I know you've worked very hard to bring it together. Don't get discouraged- use this as motivation to find the weak spots in the show, and to really tell a story in your facials and what you're singing. The show has so much potential, so keep pushing yourselves and I really think the rest of your season will be a huge success. Very proud to be a Fairfield Alum.

After prelims, I had it:
Fairfield Mixed
Solon
FC Mixed
Hurricane
Fairfield Girls
FC Girls

After finals, I had it:
Solon
Fairfield Mixed
FC Mixed
Fairfield Girls
Hurricane
FC Girls

Regardless of placement, even getting into finals at this competition was a huge accomplishment, especially for the 2 Girls groups. Congrats to everyone- I was completely surprised to see such powerhouse shows this early in the season!

Oops. Sorry. I wrote that at 6:00 A.M. when I was completely sleep deprived.

Congratulations to all the choirs who performed at Piqua. It was a wonderful competition with some fantastic choirs! A special congrats to Solon on their win. I also heard great things about both Beavercreek and Medina as well. Hurricane was very pleased with their performance and is looking forward to the rest of the competitive season. A big thank you to those who came up to me and expressed such kind words about Red Hot, it really meant a lot . Also, there is one judge who was left out over at the side and that is Gail Kennedy who judged both prelims and finals. Best of luck to everyone as they travel and perform the rest of the season!

Hi! So this year, Solon's theme is ID. Its all about expressing her you are and the actions that take place in one's life forms their personality.

I think you meant to say "expressing who you are"*, Chris. (:

Anyway, it's a really neat show and concept and I'm really happy that I just get to be a part of it! :D

I'm really quite shocked at how things turned out for this competition. No one from Solon had any idea that we would win, but I think we all feel EXTREMELY honored to have come this far. (:

Congratulations to everyone that participated, especially Franklin Central and Fairfield. You guys are STELLAR. :D

I believe this is the year of "Nice kids can and will show how show choir is really supposed to be done"... I believe that the force known as Music In Motion is coming back to what it used to be... You guys deserve a huge congratulations as I can only guess how much effort you guys put forth. I will be in the audience at Marysville and look forward to watching you guys have a great season.

Sorry to point this out, but there is an error in this event.

In Tier I prelims, Fairfield was in second place, not Medina.

Wonderful job last night FC Singers and High Voltage!! VERY proud of you all. Beavercreek, your rehearsal Friday night should be a great springboard into the rest of your season, so build on it and keep up your great effort!
