The rules at Supernova specifically state that the fourth level of platforms CAN be removed to accommodate shows. All we ask is that groups set up, perform, and tear down in their alloted performance time. Our very experienced stage crew will assist any group in accomplising this for their show. Organization is the key!

We take the 3rd row of riser away, and two of the fourth row. And at mt zion we were 3 seconds away from going home. Lol. I agree. Organization is key. Not as heavy staging could help too lol

I must say the performer in the front row center who confronts the sister and ties her up he is DARK, and fits the role so well. !

WOW! Like I told mr. Temple after finals when asked what I thought I said "got a coin" Urbandale you guys have NOTHING to be ashamed, you guys rocked tha house and your show was awesome, I am proud to call you our equals and am proud that we are on the level you guys are. Here are my thoughts on the day:

Muscatine-WOW you guys your show, well it was different. I am one of those more traditionalists when it comes to show choir(sing and dance less on the show) however I must say I understand why you guys did so well, you performed the HECK out of your show and did it so very well. I must say the performer in the front row center who confronts the sister and ties her up he is DARK, and fits the role so well. I was super impressed with you guys and Mr. Peters has you on a great track. You guys are well on your way to becoming one of the top choirs in the state.

Ankeny-Love you guys good show good year all that needs said.

Kennedy-I liked your show, not to sold on the third number but if i had seen it more it probably would have grown on me.

Kennedy organizers-probably one of THE best compeititions I have been to ran mostly on time, good organization, and great control and flow. Loved it.

To everyone GREAT job on their performances, and to my battery that decided to die in the parking lot, good timing THANKS!

Fantastic job by all performers. Regrettably, Muscatine was the only choir that I was able to see during the day but I saw all finalists at night. Definitely a very close competition in my opinion.

My personal favorite choir of the day was by far Muscatine. Let me just tell you that a lot of people from Happiness LOVES your show. It's so cool. The improvement from day to night round was spectacular, too. In the night round that second number really popped and was extra creepy; in the day round I felt like it was just "there". At night it definitely showed through. The ballad was fantastic both times and reaallly had some good moments. Obviously though we can tell that the favorite songs of the choir started at Rollin' in the Deep and only got better from then. The energy from those last songs were spectacular and again, some very very powerful moments. I thought that the band really played well here in the show and everything just seemed to click. Muscatine always has very very powerful dark numbers. I wish that the results could have been even better for you but Ankeny and Urbandale both were extremely good as well. I hope all of you know how many fans you've gained here in Cedar Rapids!

Hats off to all performers.

Thumbs down to Kennedy for the botched middle school awards ceremony. Started out announcing they needed to get this over quickly to move on to the high school groups. Handed out the 4th place trophy to the 5th place group, then backtracked.

Emcee finally realized that one performing group (McKinley) wasn't even finished with critique yet while winners were being announced. Then the emcee let everyone know who was the winner by saying' well McKinley will definitely want to be here for their announcement'

After the crowd protested because the emcee was continuing to announce awards without McKinley in the gym, he announced 3rd place, then said "everything else; Best Choreography, Vocals and first place goes to McKinley". (McKinley kids made it on stage just in time - but most of the rest of the group did not make it in the gym until after the announcements were over) Didn't even announce the 2nd place group. It wasn't until the emcee noticed walking off stage there was still a trophy he said, "Did we forget someone?". Oh yeah - second place goes to Regis.

The quality of Cedar Rapids Middle School show choir is amazing. The competition is as tough at the Middle School Level as the High School level. Most of these kids will only compete 2-3 times this year, and deserve their moment of applause/recognition. The middle school kids and supporters deserved better.

Shame on you Kennedy...

Thanks to the parents, students and staff at Kennedy for throwing a fantastic competition today. It was run beautifully and was awesome to be a part of. Happiness, WHOA!!! Simply stunning!! And to Urbandale Studio, thank you for the night show I was looking for from all of you. You did everything I asked and more!! TREMENDOUSLY proud of each and every one of you!! Ankeny was incredible and won fair and square, so no sour grapes. Just a great day with a great judging panel and some truly terrific shows. God Bless, Damon

I don't think they exist yet - if they do I haven't been successful in finding them.
