Hello! I'm one of the staff who update the results on these pages. With all due respect, nobody who attended this event has given a thorough rundown of the awards ceremony with full placements and captions (and Oak Mountain did not provide a stream and hasn't posted results on their own social media or website). So it isn't messed up, we're just doing the best we can with the limited information we have available to us here on SCC. Hope that makes sense and folks grant grace. In case folks don't know, we are community-driven site that relies on crowdsourcing information. Joey (jdcritt) made a post late last night doing his best to give a rundown of the awards while he was driving (do not recommend ) and he posted that Legacy won BV/BC. I'm hearing now that wasn't the case and so I've updated it for Élan. These things happen sometimes, especially when information is hard to come by like with Oak Mountain's invitational. It would be extremely helpful in the future for folks to simply type a clarifying post with the correct and comprehensive results. We absolutely want to give all the appropriate choirs the credit they deserve to celebrate their accomplishments. We just need your help to do that. With that said, we are still missing placements in Tier III and may be missing other awards informations like captions, so let us know and we'll happily and quickly make updates.

Another key issue here is that very few Southern programs have people who post. I think it’s only the Auburn director and the Jasper director who post on here.

In terms of the solo awards, I don’t quite know what the results that were texted to me were. I know Culverhouse (female solo) is a Homewood kid, but I’m also 99% sure she’s in Legacy, not Associate, so no idea why that was in the thread with Tier II ???????????. They could be solo in a show or solo comp, but that clarification will probably need to come from a director that was there. (I live in North Carolina these days, so I wasn’t actually there to get the info first hand).

The Oak Mountain Competition 2021 was the most 'fun-filled' and entertaining competition that I've attended in many years. Oak Mountain's Director, Michael Zauchin, provided us with an Outdoor Venue where over 5,000 people could socially distance themselves while enjoying our common love for music. Thank you for providing us with a tremendous opportunity to 'share our children's God given gifts' with our community and friends and for reminding us that Music Unifies and Makes the World a Better Place.

OMHS is the host, so OMMS is able to compete.

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but...

Homewood MS doesn’t compete at South Central Classic (hosted at Homewood HS)
Auburn JHS doesn’t compete at Show Choir Showdown (hosted at Auburn HS)
Albertville MS doesn’t compete at Diamond Classic (hosted at Albertville HS)
...

It may be a covid thing to give students another chance to compete.

You are correct, but...If you take a look at the history of this competition. Throughout the years Oak Mtn Middle has always competed at this event.

I don’t have mixed 3 unfortunately. Literally copy pasted the info I got while driving down the interstate.

*don’t try this at home kids*
