I wouldn't count Fishers out. Although, I dont know much about their choir I have heard good things. Just a thought. (:

This just made my day haha...we split from our sister school Hamilton Southeastern in 2006 and this is our 5th year in competition (still babies). But especially, this year Silver Streak competed large mixed for the first time because we've always had under 30 members in the past!

One of my favorite competitions. Dekalb, you are awesome hosts! Congrats to all the choirs!

Awe, this would have been a fun contest to see as well! I missed it. I probably would have guessed twinsburg over buffalo grove though.

It was a wonderful competition yesterday. Honestly I thought most of the groups who made finals could have been Grand Champion.

I feel like that's happened before at Dekalb and I think it's prob Northrop. Don't take my word because I'm not there
Last year or two years ago. Same two groups in same situation.

Edgewood made finals because another group went to another competition and made finals. Not sure who though.

Probably Northrop. They made finals at Norwell too. Props to them for going twice in one day...I couldn't have done it.

About Carroll versus Center Grove last weekend.
CG beat Carroll by a mere three points and I believe Center Grove was ineligible for the best band award.

Twinsburg will bring it. They have some very strong vocals.

Buffalo Grove took vocals off of Wheaton-Warrenville...idk if it'll be that close.

I don't know how one group getting best vocals off a powerhouse is any different than another group getting vocals off a different powerhouse... So by that logic I would say that it actually probably will be close.

Agreed. Also Carroll just took vocals and band off Center Grove last weekend... I think they are also gonna be a force here. This is gonna be a close one for sure.

The writing has been on the wall since 2009. I saw Carroll at Dekalb that year and was VERY impressed. I knew they'd shock people in the years to come.
