I am falling more and more in love with Ankeny Centennial. They are everything I believe show choir should strive to be. Their arrangements are beautiful and seamless, and the choreography really ties everything together. I am just so in love with this group.
I keep looking back at this list in complete disbelief. I'm so honored to have competed next to some of the greatest groups in the country. The amount of respect I have for everyone this weekend is unreal. I recieved so many kind words from students and directors of other choirs, and it really goes to show how positively this community has shaped into.
And for the folks not watching the stream, FAME has decided to invite the top four choirs in the advanced mixed division for all of the qualifying events to the FAME National Finals due to the Hollywood cancellation.
For the mixed division here, Brea Olinda "Masquerade" was also extended an invitation as Clinton was confirmed on stage to not be attending the finals. I imagine we'll hear in the upcoming days/weeks whether the other qualifying groups will be attending.
For the single-gender division, both Brea groups were invited.
Anyway, the division with Spellbound, Thundercats, and Hartbreakers should really should be labeled "Single-Gender Division" instead of "Women's Division" because Brea Olinda "Thundercats" is an all-male show choir.
Yeah, thanks. Earlier Alex said the "Thundercats" were in the Open Division so I adjusted the divisions and then in the mad dash of updating awards during the announcement I forgot to change the division back.
The "Thundercats" have had some hilarious shows in the past, but it looks like they took a somewhat more serious approach this year. Congrats to the Brea groups!
Are there no finals for this event? There are never finals for FAME events
For clarification, FAME standardized the no finals at their regional events starting last year. Prior to that there were finals at almost all of their events.
I totally called the Clinton win and that they wouldn't go to finals.
I agree Chad kind of gave it away haha. And I think that was a pretty popular call that Clinton wouldn't be attending the Finals.
