Opinions from the spectators at Crete? I know Lights is a very competitive girls group and I'm really curious to hear if spectators thought they'd place ahead of troy and manteno

You asked. Since I support Manteno I'll leave them out of it... The people that should be a little disappointed in the placement was Troy..... IMHO, They were clearly better and did more a difficult show... I do not know what the judges were thinking and they had ranked Mundelein in 5th during prelims. The finals performance was good.. but not 2 positions good.

My opinion and 1.50 will get you a cup of coffee.

Anyone know the judges? I heard Heath Gemar was on the panel but I assume that can't be true if Glenwood was competing.

Heath was a critique judge in the afternoon. He did not judge finals since he also choreographs for Pekin as well as Glenwwood.

Agreed! I am very interested to know what audience members thought of the finals performances and/or thoughts on "Lights".

Great job ladies for breaking the norm!!

Glenwood is very clean and their choreography is very energizing. They have great performers all around. It's a fun show and they dance it very well.

Wheaton North can sing oh my can they sing. Their ballad was easily the highlight of the whole day. Has potential to be the best of the 2015 season. If you have the chance to see Wheaton North don't miss it. I've never seen a group with as many amazing soloists as them. One after another and they just keep getting better.

Mundelein girls were great. Good sound, very entertaining show. They do a cool bit at the end that had the audience going crazy. I didn't see their mixed group but the girls were fantastic.

Manteno is huge and has a good show. They aren't as clean as they usually are but it was their first time out. They'll get there. Band sounded great too.

Troy had a great show. Filled with energy and a good sound especially from the guys. Really fun show.

I agree with final placements. It had to have been very close between Glenwood and Wheaton N. They were back to back in finals and both had amazing shows. Amazing!

It was a good day overall. Was surprised to see how much things changed between prelims and finals. It looks more like inconsistent judging between day and night than it does that groups had better/worse performances. They were all very similar between day and night IMO.

Day ranks-

1: Wheaton North- 588
2: Glenwood- 578
3: Manteno- 558
4: Troy- 540
5: Mundelein girls- 529

Any idea how the rest of the groups outside of finals placed?

Wow what a switch to finals! Shows that hard work from a prelims performance to a finals performance really does change things. Congrats to all!

Oh wow, good to know. Thank you for the information. I'm gonna have to check them out!

I don't personally know much about either group, but Mundelein "Lights" is a perennial finals contender that places against mixed groups. They've been on the heels of their mixed group, "Sound", several times and has placed ahead of them before.

Did something happen to Eisenhower... a penalty or something. I can't believe that they did not make finals.

Was this for the solo competition? Wheaton North tweeted that Stephanie Chiodras took BFS in a show.
