In reference to the post (#37) as to if the middle schools were all one division? I don't know about that but I think both Jackson Prep & Clinton have 9th graders
(as apparently they have grades 7,8, & 9 in their middle schools) in their groups.
That fact alone makes the groups with just 7th & 8th graders at a disadvantage that is virtually impossible to overcome. I mean no disrespect to Jackson Prep. or Clinton, but vocally you get a more mature sound that groups with just 7th & 8th graders can't match. It's like having Jr. Varsity groups up against middle school groups. I heard Clintons M.S. group three years ago, the last year Tammy Carney was at Clinton, and they sounded like a H.S. group, just much more of a mature sound than any of the middle school groups. Best Middle School group I have ever heard by far!

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Clinton performed right after Homewood when Clinton's theme is "Fehry Tales" and Homewood's first line in the show is "Has anyone ever read you a fairy tale?"

Does Clinton typically start this late in the year for their first competition?

Yes. Homewood is usually Clinton's first competition each year.

First off, yesterday was an awesome day filled with fantastic performances. It was honestly probably one of the more fun competitions of been to as far as entertainment value. Here's my thoughts on the finalst:

Clinton "Attaché"- Congrats on your first grand championship of the season! I am still in awe over your costumes and set. The use of the TV's is brilliant, especially the ones within the story books. As far as your choreography goes, it was the typical Clinton. I was very impressed by everything visually. Your vocals are fantastic, but the groups looks young as well as sounds young in some parts of your show. However, you sound great! My biggest critisism is that there were too many solos for my taste and that the stories didn't flow as well as I would've liked them to. Overall, I was very impressed by your show as always!

Auburn- I'm in love with your show! The improvement you have made since Jackson Prep is amazing. Like Clinton, the use of TV's in your show is brilliant. The energy in your opener and second number is infectious! Your ballad is also beautiful, especially the soft parts toward the end. Overall, it's such a fun show to watch, I just wish the energy from the first two songs carried through the rest of the show.

Albertville- Such a fantastic show! The lighting and the use of blacklight in your show gives an amazing effect. Your vocals are fantastic, and I really love Agnus Dei and the song following it. They're both so beautiful. Overall, your choreography is very clean, there is just energy lacking through some parts of the show. Thank you for such a great show and making me want to travel in space!

Petal- The most impressive Petal group I have seen in a very long time. I love the way you set up the risers. Your choreography is super clean and your vocals are great. You also had beautiful costumes! I was a bit confused by the show design. I got the electricity thing, I just wish more would have been done with it.

Jackson Prep- What a fun show! Your choreography is on point, and I enjoyed everything visually. Vocally, it wasn't there for me. Also, I wish there would've been more emphasis on the sinking of the ship. That part of the show was a tad confusing to me. Overall, you have a great show!

Also, a shout out to Natalie Weiss for a fantastic performance before prelim awards! You were so entertaining and your voice is so amazing! It was an awesome treat for the high school students, parents, directors, etc. to be able to watch you perform!

This was definitely a South Central Classic to never forget!

How does Attaché look this year in comparison to past years?
They look excellent! They seem to be a little young, but that's how a lot of groups down here are right now. Also, their story time show is really cool! It's very similair I'm design to last years time travel show. In the same way the time travel show allowed them to address many different decades, the story telling show allows them to address many different fairy tales
