What a wonderful time in Martinsburg WV! Thank you to wonderful people at Martinsburg High School for their hospitality and kindness. This was my first time competing out of VA as a choral director and to make finals was thrilling. SO proud of ALL the groups that competed. To enter finals in 5th place and end up 2nd Runner Up...PRICELESS! We only placed 2nd runner up by .5, but I'll take it! Congratulations to Clover Hill on a well deserved Grand Champion win. You were Champs both on and OFF stage!
On behalf of Washington "Vocal Fusion," we would like to say thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Everything ran smoothly and we were very impressed with all of the schools that competed on Saturday. We were very fortunate to place 2nd in our division, which is the first time we ever placed as a mixed group. This year hasn't been easy for us, we went from our usual number of 20-25+ down to 7 last year and now 13 this year. Even though we were not a big group like we usually are we managed to pull it together like I'm sure a lot of schools had to do under the circumstances of Covid. Covid didn't win this battle, the performing arts did. Congrats everyone! You all are winners.
