Band scores determined that caption. Best Male Solo went to Nathaniel Smith from Marion. Best Female Solo was Lucia Salazar from Momentum.

I got to see all of the groups yesterday, and everyone was so fantastic! I was so excited to see the first competitive performance for Clinton (IA) and that is history I won’t forget. My grandpa is from Clinton, so that was cool. I can’t wait to see their future.

Just curious, how big was Clinton’s group? I know that the pandemic has decreased participation in a lot of extracurricular segments, show choir included. For reference, the one group that I know will be debuting competitively in Wisconsin later this season has 10 singer/dancers (unsure of band/crew numbers).

4th Avenue: 1 1 2 2 2 = 21 + 21 + 18 + 18 + 18 = 96
Momentum: 1 1 1 2 3 = 21 + 21 + 21 + 18 + 15 = 96
Marion : 2 3 3 3 4 = 18 + 15 + 15 + 15 + 12 = 76
Center Point-Urbana: 3 4 4 5 5 = 15 + 12 + 12 + 9 + 9 = 57

So, City High and Momentum actually tied in finals. Tiebreaker was vocal points, so City High won Grand Championship. Congrats to them!
