I believe the director of Bishop Luers has already made an announcement on this page. And from what I can tell, they have been announced grand champs along with Walsh Jesuit. This was very embarrassing for both choirs, especially Walsh, and I don’t necessarily like when people try to bring others down. I’m also not sure how you know the scoring if you are from Belmont and joined today? Let’s please try to be positive towards everyone and congratulate every choir on their performances.

I don’t think they’re trying to bring anyone down. It seems they just want the record to be set straight and have the facts known. I agree it was an embarrassing situation and although both the Pointe Singers and Harmony Gold are named grand champs, it should be noted who truly won the competition.

Its kind of rude to post about how many points they won by, I get you wanna set the record straight that Grosse won but imagine how embarrassing it is for Walsh right now. But for you to add on and say they won by 30 or 27 points is lame and degrading.

It just seems like a very rude way to communicate this information from someone who joined today and already stated that Grosse Pointe was supposed to win. Just seems like rehashing a very embarrassing moment. We need to be better sports and respect each other! Best show is best choreography at Bishop Luers, as it has been in the past to the best of my knowledge. I am very disappointed in Bishop Luers and the mistakes that were made, but we do not need to be making fake accounts. It was already noted who won the competition.

Ladies and Gentlemen... let’s clear the air here a bit. First and foremost... let’s acknowledge the fact that NEITHER group did anything wrong. Both groups had FANTASTIC shows and deserve their recognition. Secondly, there is no need to argue over a clerical error made from a judging and score keeping standpoint. We are all humans and technology is never perfect... there will be mistakes and those mistakes were addressed and owned by the Bishop Luers Director. Similar situations have occurred in the past and were handled in a similar fashion. Third, there should be a level of professionalism and respect being displayed by the young adults involved in both show choirs, their parents, their fans, etc. Running to social media to snap back at one another and/or try to bring each other down is NOT what this industry is all about.

Yes, there was a 30 point discrepancy with GP’s score from one judge. No, that does not equate to GP winning by 27 points. I encourage you all to educate yourselves before you speak. I assure you, that practice will go a long way when you enter the professional world as adults. Additionally, Walsh won the Best Show caption award which if you listened to the Emcee... by definition at Bishop Luers that means Best Choreography which is corrected notated on this website.

Please know that this post is not an official response on behalf of the Walsh Jesuit Harmony Gold but rather my own personal response and thoughts on the situation and happenings. So once again, let’s refrain from the negativity and bashing that has occurred on various social media platforms. I have seen it and it’s disheartening and completely unprofessional.

Both groups were absolutely amazing on Saturday and deserve all recognition and accolades earned. Best of luck to both groups throughout the remainder of the season.

My mistake with the best show/choreography discrepancy! I just wanted to make sure it was listed correctly, which it turns out it was

UPDATE: I have to unfortunately announce that last night Bishop Luers made a scoring input error. Due to the numbers entered incorrectly, the final result is incorrect. The Grosse Pointe Pointe Singers should have received 1st place and Walsh Jesuit Harmony Gold 2nd. At this point, due to the tardiness of this discovery, I have decided to award both groups the Grand Champion honors. While this is awkward for everyone, we don’t want to take anything away from hard working high school performers but we did want to recognize the correct results. Thank you to the directors of both choirs for your patience and understanding. I am deeply sorry. Both groups performed amazing shows. Congratulations to The Pointe Singers!
Sincerely,
Kristopher Andorfer
Director - Bishop Luers High School

Everyone has been sleeping on Walsh Jesuit!!! Only 10 guys, and they produce some of the best vocals I’ve seen live! I had the chance to see them last year at this competition, and they did absolutely amazing! I’m so excited to see them again after doing amazing at Solon. They were honestly jaw dropping for the size of their choir, even beating one of my favorite show choirs Piqua. They have beaten every prediction at their competitions this year, and I can most definitely see them getting another Grand Champ!

Predictions:
GC: Walsh Jesuit BV
1RU: Grosse Pointe BC BB
2RU: Huntington North
3RU: Jay County
4RU: Bishop Dwenger
5RU- Grosse Pointe SS
