Looks like news out of Central Lee is slow coming. As of 8:30 Sunday morning all I know is that Mt. Pleasant was Grand Champion and Keokuk First Runner-up.
Now that I have arrived home, I would like to post my thoughts on the shows I saw. All comments will be positive.
Keokuk “Purple Harmony”
My favorite backdrop of the day. Your costumes are so beautiful and your choreography is insane. Your closer was so much fun to watch, and gave me Mt. Zion vibes from last year. A great show, can’t wait to see you again at West Delaware!
Mt. Pleasant “InMotion”
This show was beautiful. You guys are clearly enjoying yourselves on stage, and it just creates an atmosphere unlike any other. Your vocals caused a minor earthquake in the gym, and I just didn’t want your show to end. Great job!
Fort Madison “Swingspan”
So much improvement from your first performance! Despite not being the biggest group there, your vocals and choreography had a unique combination that I only saw from you today. Also, any choir who opens with “This Is Gospel” is instantly a winner in my book.
Muscatine “River City Rhythm”
My favorite show theme of the day. It was so creative and I loved the props. I couldn’t stop watching your choreography. It was so wonderfully executed. Your vocals are also so amazing. Awesome job!
Central Lee “C-Force” (I know they didn’t compete, but still.)
I love how your show starts. It creates an interesting dynamic for the rest of the opener and sets a good tone for the rest of the show. Your beginning costumes are also very nice, and I just LOVE that Aretha Franklin closer
My personal rankings:
1. Mt. Pleasant (Vocals)
2. Muscatine (Choreography, Band)
3. Keokuk
4. Fort Madison
5. Central Lee
I did some digging, and I have found that these schools plan on attending this event so far.
