Could someone explain how finalists were chosen and post prelim results?

Finalists were the Top 6 daytime scores and then performed in random order. The only non-random performance selection times were Rock Bridge's groups. Since both of their groups made finals and a number of their performers are in both groups, one of them had to be first, and one of them had to be last so the performers who are in both had time to prep for both groups finals performance.
