It was like that last year too. Reedsburg got best choreo and got 5th.
Looked into the history of this competition. Looks like they didn't start handing out Best Choreography till 2012. With the exception of 2013 the caption winner of Best Choreography hasn't ever placed top two.
As for Best Vocals with the exception of 2010, 2013, and now 2015 the Best Vocals caption has always taken Grand Champion.
This competition is very interesting to say the least. Maybe I'll have to attend next year to give my own opinion on how the judging is done (I'd hate to say it but some judges just favor certain groups over the other. But we all know this because obviously show choir is subjective). Does anyone happen to know if it's based on rankings or points?
GC: Mayville
1RU: Monona Grove BB
2RU: Sauk Prairie BV
3RU: Fort Atkinson BC
4RU: Green Bay Preble
5RU: Manteno
Could anyone elaborate on this competition? Not to discredit anything Mayville or Monona Grove did but by the captions it looks like it should have been Sauk as GC and Fort as 1RU.

Those are some really interesting results with the captions the way they are. Congrats to Mayville though on having the complete package!
Personally, it shouldn't matter! If you are good, you are good and it shouldn't matter the time you perform. You always need to be giving 120%! Is preble far from new london? Maybe parents can get hotels the night before?
I have no doubt that they'll give 100% but yes, time you perform does matter. Preble is an hour from the site so this is like a show in your backyard. At 8 a.m. the place is empty and you are performing for a handful of people. If it's your first time or if you haven't placed consistently, that's one thing. Either way, my students will just load the bus early to head on over and cheer for our alums!
Alright, I know we are going to hear that it is based on the distance traveled to the competition but someone has to ask the question. Why is it that Preble Rendezvous is always first at 8:00 a.m. when they place first runner up and there are schools that weren't even here last year who are performing much later? (It was initially scheduled that way last year.) It just really isn't fair to their parents or fans as they have loyally been here since 2010 and have stepped up their game every year.
