Yes DVD's were made this year! They were done by Blue Sky Productions and you can order a DVD of the concert by heading over to their website @ www.blueskypd.com!
Does anyone know if they still sell DVDs of this concert? I would love to get one if anyone has any information. Thanks!

I thought Fab Five this year was great and everything ran smoothly in my opinion. I had the privilege of watching all of the other groups after our performance was done and wow, the talent level this year is great. Seeing everyone just reaffirmed the notion for me that Cedar Rapids is SO GOOD at show choir. It's crazy how you can have that many good groups all within about 15 miles of each other.
Here are some of my thoughts on everyone else's performances...
Linn-Mar: I love your guys' energy and costumes. Once again your band was amazing, which I am always impressed with them every year. Your dance breaks are always great and I love the "Dream" motif you guys have chosen to do.
Washington: I liked the guy's number and their first costumes. Also, I thought it was an interesting approach to do "Back in Black" as a girl's number. The vocals during your ballad were phenomenal and obviously the Michael Jackson lean in the closer was great to!
Kennedy: Your guys' ballad is easily my favorite so far this year. Both of the soloists you guys have for it absolutely kill it every time. The novelty piece is great and I love your guys' third costumes and closer. A very interesting repertoire with all the different styles of songs.
Jefferson: I love the natural disasters theme and the costumes are great the whole way through. Your guys' ballad is fantastic, especially the a cappella part. The girl's number is amazing, one of my favorite girl's numbers from the past couple of years. The energy in the closer is great and you guys really bring it home.
I cannot wait to watch all of these groups!! I haven't seen Wash, Linn- Mar or Kennedy yet, so it's going to be an awesome night!
I can't wait to watch Xavier!

They have in years past so I am sure they are planning on doing something similar, if not the same thing again this year!
Well he was clear later on, I'm saying it is wrong to say that it is the local varsity groups when one is not included.
There, I edited my post. Hopefully now it's more clear than what it was before
edit: And to be fair, Jack; Alex was crystal clear in his initial post with which schools are included and which aren't. You can't pick and choose sentences to prove a point.

Another year, another conversation about the exact same topic. I'm not even from Cedar Rapids and I understand the situation. Folks, this is why we have a database. You can go back and look all this up.
Literally, there's a search tab at the very top. Type in "Fab Five" and violĂ .

This event is coming up here shortly so I thought I might as well post a topic about it. For those of you who don't know what Fab Five is, it is a non-competitive showcase of the local public high schools' varsity groups in the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area which include Prairie, Jefferson, Linn-Mar, Kennedy, and Washington. The event acts as a fundraiser and all proceeds are divided evenly between the schools. Here is an excerpt from the event's organizers....
The Metro area Public High Schools are proud to present the 21st annual Fab Five Show Choir Extravaganza. This event has a long history in our community and has become one of the premier entertainment events in the area. We will be holding the Fab Five Varsity Extravaganza one night only on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
This event is a major fundraiser for the participating schools' vocal music programs. The varsity show choirs at Jefferson, Kennedy, Linn-Mar, Prairie and Washington High Schools will each be performing their shows. All proceeds will be divided equally between the schools. The diverse music programs use the funds to provide scholarships to participants, defray costs associated with competitions, and to purchase necessary classroom needs that are not covered in school budgets.
We expect this event to sell out so we recommend purchasing tickets online. If tickets remain on the day of the event, sales will continue at the door starting at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are still available and can be bought at www.fab-five.org
The event will be moving back to Prairie's Concert Hall this year and, as stated above, the program will start at 7 with doors opening at 6.
Prairie is absolutely honored and thrilled to be hosting Fab Five this year and hope everyone can join us for this awesome night of show choir!
