I think they were just trying to point out that GCS's show was impacted a bit by lack of people. I still enjoyed it very much and thought they did great for only having 28 people. Only 11 guys!
Sioux Falls had more people which made for better vocals and better looking choreography.

Still don't know how GCS beat out Sioux Falls... don't get me wrong GCS performed their show to the best of their ability but, Sioux Falls had more people which made for better vocals and better looking choreography. Congrats to all groups that competed! Viterbo is always a fun competition to attend!
I know that after prelims-- placings went ATSC, Wash, GCS, Craig, Monona, and Holmen. This was such a fun competition! Thanks to viterbo for being so hospititable!
ATSC was actually ahead by 8. Not sure about the rest of the pack. Also, I'd just like to add this: MAJOR, MAJOR Props to Indianola "Side One" for greeting us at our hotel after the competition. Very classy of you guys! Best of luck to them and all else for the rest of the year!
After prelims I know atsc was 9 points ahead of SF wash and I'm not sure how many points washington had over GCS during the day but everything was very close
What was the ranking after prelims? I'm curious to find that out. From what I heard GCS has really gone down from years past (not to say their show wasn't awesome because duh they are still gcs) and Washington's show is outstanding this year. I'm interested to hear from those who were in the audience! Obviously ATSC killed it! Not a sweep though with SF having Best Band. Fun times!
This competition was phenomenal!!!! Omaha absolutely killed it yesterday and earned grand champs. I'm a little shocked to see GCS come ahead of Sioux Falls but I guess it just speaks to the quality of this competition!!!!!
I heard through the grapevine that Omaha Westside was in first after day time. A few points behind them in second place was... Sioux Falls Washington! Will be interesting to see how finals comes out.
I completely agree! I just think that Craig and Sioux Falls have developed stories to go along with their shows rather than the traditional show choir shows that ATSC puts out. Neither one is wrong but I prefer ones that tell stories such as Sioux Falls and Craig. ATSC's ballads tell huge stories but if that's the only part that moves me to tears, I would choose the other two over them. I agree with you though their vocals are really what bring them GC's.
Sioux Falls ended up getting best band. I am an alumi of that group and they had a performance last week and it was OUTSTANDING. It was better than last year and the year before even. Sioux Falls truly has it going for them this year. And their ballad is amazing!!! And the choreography is so clean!!!
