The website has this listed as performing choirs so far:
11:00 AM Amherst County "Amherechos"
11:30 AM Glenwood "Gator Show Choir"
12:00 PM Amherst County "Belles of Amherst"
12:30 PM Johnson City "Sophisticats"
1:00 PM Kipp Gaston Prep "Encore!"
Although there are still several open slots so there may or may not be more competing choirs. The website also has these folks listed as the judges which is a bit different than Dallas' list. Not sure which is up-to-date:
Carlos Barillo
Sandi Thomas
Robert Allen
Antwon Chavis
Brian Rodabaugh
My list is up to date. I got it from one of the judges.

They have had lil music competitions there in the past, larger show choirs just never attended, I think many took their freshman choirs and what not. Now that KD isn't owned by Paramount and Cedar now owns it... it could be a fun lil outing! Maybe theyll have it at the large outdoor theatre or even better in the indoor one where its airconditioned.
This is certainly not a competition local competitve show choirs in the Richmond area "attend" on a normal basis. I unfortunately know nothing about it other than that it's an excuse to ride rollercoasters all day and sing in a theme park, which I personally am not against lol.

I moved this topic to the East Coast forums… because Virginia is not the Midwest.
I think I remember reading about an East Coast competition at a theme park in previous years. I can't imagine a theme park competition would appeal to many schools other than local show choirs. Perhaps once Ryan sees this he might have some additional information being the Virginia expert that he is. But thanks for the info Dallas, I'll add it to the system!
Haha, after I posted about this, I realized it's not considered Midwest. But, I'm still very excited that they are starting this. Maybe the other Cedar Fair Parks (Kings Island/Cedar Point) will join and have a real show choir competition? Music in the Parks simply doesn't cater to us.

I just found this competition, and I have to say..I'm very excited to see a theme park in the midwest have a REAL competition for competitive show choirs. Looks like the registration is only $100. I'm interested to see how this works out!
