Special shout-out from Millard North "Infinity" to Johnston AND to Norris's director--we had some trouble setting up during our prelims performance and because of that, we couldn't use the extra risers we usually set up on top of the normal risers. It really messed with our staging, but Johnston was kind enough to lend us their risers for our finals performance. Much appreciated, great competition!
Going off of what Rezshow choir was, it was definitely was a scary performance by SW. I don't believe that they went in thinking that they could slack off and just get by like that to win (Because if anyone has seen Johnston and Millard North both, well, they kinda rock along with the other choirs.) but of course, there was a more relaxed atmosphere since we had just came from Urbandale (and that level of competition was more terrifying obviously due to the reps that though choirs have) and felt more secure with the spot we were predicted to get due to how we have placed in the past. However, although this could not be a reason at all why it was so close, we were shot hard with sickness this week. Myself personally, I was home sick with a major cold on Wed. and Thurs. (which many others missed school as well due to the same reason), people had food poisoning and we were just a sick mess. During the first performance I could barely sing and lost my voice during the second performance and, I don't know about the rest of the choir but I know most every tenor was having cold problems and could barley get a note out (compared to what we are used to giving). So I do believe that Johnston worked their butts off and gave it their all (wondering to myself if we even really deserve first because they freaking own the stage when they perform) but we definitely gave a really hard effort to do our best but our best was just not to where we could typically perform, which I personally think was due to being sick mess but I really don't believe that SW slacked off. Just to place that out there. Great job to all the groups though and huge shout out to both Millard North (Your vocals blew me away) and Johnston (I love you and you all are beautiful and thank you for almost beating us because it really is great for us and makes me loe you guys more.)
Final Results:

2nd: Johnston BB
3rd: Millard North
4th: Lincoln East
5th: Southeast Polk
6th: Southwest Prep
Great competition!
Out of 600 points, SW had 567 and Johnston had 566. I thought that was one of the weakest performances for SW in all the times I have seen them this year. I don't know if they thought they were just going to roll over everyone after being in first in daytime but it didn't look the prettiest. Still a good show by everyone though. Goes to show you that no matter who you are you have to step it up for every performance.

So, are these the finalists then? Can anyone confirm? Also add order of performance if you can.

I don't believe there is any restrictions on who makes finals, just the top 6 scoring groups. Two prep groups made finals last year so it can be anyone.

Also, quick question. I noticed that it says that Papillion LaVista South's Illumination/Titan Express are coming, but does anyone know if Titanium will be coming as well?
The schedule I put down was the full schedule so as far as everything shows, they are not coming. I believe they did this last year as well. Not sure if they are going to a different competition or just having their other groups go out. Maybe cost savings if they are going to something bigger later on by themselves?

my school has never competed here before. are the rules the same as a normal competition? as in, 6 varsity show choir get into finals? or are they any different?

I haven't seen any of those groups, so I couldn't tell you based on the shows, but SW's prep group has a REALLY REALLY advantageous time slot. So I would guess it would be them if they have a good enough show. Johnston's prep is always super good, but they have the worst time slot of the 3 being mentioned.
I agree with you 100%. Ambience has a good time slot to prove themselves. If they can do good enough to leave a mark on the judges over the choirs in front of them then they may have a good chance.
