I hope that clears things up a bit!
It most definitely does! Thank you very much!

You are correct in your assumption that last year FAME only invited the top three mixed groups and the Grand Champion single gender group to the National Show Choir Finals last year. However, we have changed the invitation policy somewhat to read the following:

"The top three mixed groups and the top two girl's groups will qualify for the National Show Choir Finals at Chicago's Arie Crown Theater on April 20-21, 2012. Should a mixed group decline the invitation to compete at the National Show Choir Finals, one alternate (the third runner-up) from that event will be invited in their stead."

Should there be more than one group that chooses not to accept the invitation, no additional alternates will be invited.

I hope that clears things up a bit!

I figured as much would happen. They have such a fantastic girls group. The best i've ever seen!

Then you didn't see the Debtones last year!

Both Shepherd Hill groups, (Fantasy & Illusion) will be attending Nationals in Chicago!
Congratulations! So, is FAME awarding bids to the FAME Championship for groups that initially don't make the Top 3, but in the event that one of those Top 3 decline the bid to the FAME Championship? As in this case, although Fantasy placed 4th, due to Powerhouse not attending the Championships, FAME gave Fantasy the bid instead? Just wondered, because I thought I remembered that last year FAME only awarded the top three groups with bids regardless of if they were going or not.

Burroughs Sound Sensations were only second to Powerhouse scorewise. If they joined the main comp, they would have been first runner up.

I would have been curious to see what would have happened if the JB girls competed in the open division.

The Lincoln Center was a beautiful venue! Such a pleasure to say I've performed on that stage!

Powerhouse and Sound Sensations won't be attending the FAME Championship in Chicago due to the SoCal competition, correct? Anyone know if Manchester, Daniel Hand, or Shepherd Hill's girls plan to attend the FAME Championship?

Correct as to your first question.

Great job today everyone!

Burroughs - Loved the "who runs the world/gold" number, so creative, ur girl soloists throughout the entire show blew me away.

CSwing! - Big congrats! I've seen your show before, but was glad I got to come see it again!

Daniel - wow, very impressed by the gal in the opener and loved her later in the show singing her own line without a mic.. "Work!" Ballad soloist, you were also phenominal. Who choreographs your group?

Daniel Hand "Vibe" is choreographed by Greg "Bubba" Bussiere as of last year. He is the choreographer for Shepherd Hill "Illusion" (second place Single-Gender) and choreographer and co-director for Shepherd Hill "Fantasy" (fourth runner up). He's actually been starting to move around the country a great deal. For example, he choreographs Mt. Zion "Swingsations" and "Les Femmes" fall shows.

Powerhouse was amazing! One more group to perform, then quick snack break and finally the awards.
