A man behind me said the following when Mitchell's set was being put together.

"I have been around show choir for the past 15 years and I have never seen a set this big before."

It made me chuckle.

Great job everyone! What a fun day! I was expecting the Best Choreography and Best Vocals to be switched with Mitchell and East.

All the groups stepped it UP tonight. It was great to watch. Should be interesting to see how the rest of the season works out!

Predictions:

GC. Mitchell (sweep)
1RU. SF O'Gorman
2RU. Sioux City East
3RU. Sioux Falls Washington
4RU. Emmetsburg

Aberdeen and Sioux Falls Roosevelt are so hard to predict as they haven't really been out there yet. But they definitely have a chance for a spot in finals.

O'Gorman hasn't competed yet this year (that I know of?) but last year they had an absolutely fantastic show. But I just don't see anyone in SD knocking off Mitchell.

Sioux City East is down this year but they still should finish in the 1RU-3RU range. Sioux Falls Washington is up from last year, and I love Emmetsburg's show.

After GC, this should be a very fun competition that can go many different ways. Unfortunate that they only allow five finalists, as there are definitely six (maybe even seven) great SD/IA choirs that deserve to make it.

Good luck to everyone!

We're still around.

We have been to Mitchell many times and have great memories of the Corn Palace. The last couple of years the dates have not worked out. It will be fun to compete in South Dakota again!

Well this will certainly be a treat to see!

Emmetsburg! My gosh. I haven't seen them since 2004 when we either came to your competition or competed against y'all.. I can't quite remember.
