First of all. Whoever said the judge found a mistake is hilarious. The only mistake was placing Madison central ahead of Jackson prep. Non the less grand champion.. they didn't even win any captions how would receive GC when south got best vocals and tied with jprep with overall effect and jprep got what was it visual? South jones definitely won followed by jprep.
I'm not at all saying one thing happened as opposed to another. But my group, Albertville, won Tallassee while only winning Show Design. Enterprise won Choreo and Dekalb won vocals but we still walked away with the GC. And then last week at Twonsburg, we won EVERY caption except for vocals (Choreo, show concept, band, costumes, and judges choice) and then placed 1RU. So that kind of stuff IS possible. However, I wasn't there and have not seen the judges sheet so I have NO idea what happened at all but if anybody finds out for sure, please post it!!!

It was confirmed. There was a mis-tabulation that was not noticed until after the winner of finals were announced. A judge noticed the mix up and notified Petal's director who contacted the director's of the choirs involved. The actual results were:

Grand Champion - Madison Central
1st runner-up - South Jones "Company"

The rest of the awards were correct.

That is crazy!!!! However, I think well deserved on Madison's part! I LOVE their show. Absolutely love it

Well there is allot wrong with it if you know anything about show choir ... But all groups are great and are very entertaining but it's obvious the problems in the judging in the south ...

I know A LOT about show choir. And I know that every group got what they deserved. This is one of the first competitions that I didn't think that a group got truly cheated.

Placement in large mixed ....

I don't see a problem with it. I would have had madison central above jackson prep last week at homewood. and south jones is the most put together group there today.
