I know this is a totally delayed post, but I was thinking of this site the other day and then this competition came to mind.

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed this competition. I thought all the groups did very well.

On a more personal note, I'm VERY proud of the La Crosse Central groups...both of them. GCS, most of you know I wasn't fond of the show at first, but it's been a topsy-turvy year for the group. I can definitely say that it grew on me. And the energy is probably the best I've ever seen. And Central Connection girls...you could not have done any better. Making finals as a prep group is something to be proud of, and taking fifth overall is even better! Take a nice break and keep it up next season!

Much love,
-Paulla

Thanks for a great competition everyone, I'm sad i couldn't watch shows throughout the day, but I was too busy running around to get ready myself.

Sioux Falls-- Thanks for being awesome hosts, I have to say, this is one of the, if not the best competition I've been to all year. Everybody was so nice, and was so much fun. Your show was amazing, i loved every minute of it. Thank you again.

As like many competitions this year, this competition can be broken down into a few groups.

Tier One -
Sioux City East and La Crosse Central.
- One of these groups will win. I'm pretty sure it will be East, but with this year being the way it has been, who knows.

Tier Two -
Sioux Falls O'Gorman, Aberdeen, and Vermillion
- These groups are basically guaranteed finals bar disaster. They will probably finish in this order, too.

Tier Three -
Groton and Sioux Falls Roosevelt
- Groton is a great small school. I randomly competed against them my junior year at Hinton and saw a lot more than I expected from a tiny South Dakota school. Sioux Falls Roosevelt is having it's best year in recent past. It should be a nice battle for the last spot, but I am giving the nod to SF Roosevelt.

My Predictions:
GC. Sioux City East (Sweep. I see them getting vocals hands down. Probably choreo. Band is always a mystery to me.)
1RU. LaCrosse Central
2RU. Sioux Falls O'Gorman
3RU. Aberdeen
4RU. Vermillion
5RU. Sioux Falls Roosevelt

I haven't seen GCS this season but I would guess they are pretty great. I have seen East and they ARE pretty great. Vermillion always has awesome choreography! I would bet on seeing them in finals. I haven't seen Lacrosse's JV group either, but I wouldn't doubt if them or New Sound slipped into finals somewhere. Sioux Falls O'Gorman has a nice show this year, and Roosevelt is much improved from previous years. Aberdeen has a bit of an abstract show but it is still entertaining. I think this will be a great competition and I look forward to seeing how it unfolds.
HUAHH!

i don't think that new sound or groton has a chance against roosevelt this year..... they really really stepped up their game and have put in over 500 hours in this year (so im told by their director), and didnt switch their show multiple times like they've done in the past years
i think since vermillion they worked hard to earn it. so i believe they will be competing for the same placement as aberdeen and vermillion. i can't say who will take what between them. especially since i am unbiased to either of their schools.

my predictions are
GC: La Crosse (amazing show)
1RU: Sioux city east headliners
2RU: Sioux Falls O'G

can't say anything past that.... to me its up to the groups to decide beside that

(Sorry that I have two typos in the last post. I can't seem to get my edit to work...)

If you use Internet Explorer that is your issue. You can't edit for some reason.

I haven't done predictions in a long time, but I suppose I will just for kicks. I haven't seen most of these groups yet this year, so bear with me. I don't know if there will be five finalists or six.

GC: Sioux City East
1RU: La Crosse Central
2RU: Sioux Falls O'Gorman
3RU: Aberdeen Central
4RU: Vermillion
5RU: Groton/Sioux Falls Roosevelt/New Sound

It will be interesting to see how things will work out between GC and 1RU. Could be a tough call this year. Right now, I'd imagine East could get a sweep, but either way is in an sense an upset.

Also, the final couple of spots could be up for grabs. Whether or not there are six finals spots, there could be some infiltration of those 5RU groups into the upper levels of finals. I haven't seen Aberdeen, Vermillion, Groton, Roosevelt, OR New Sound in a long time. I know Roosevelt is having their best year ever and I'd love to see them in finals. They've been working for a long time, and it was great to see that they made finals at Vermillion. Groton is always a formidable underdog. I am always amazed that a school that small can have such a booming choir program.

I haven't been this unsure of my personal predicions in a long time--so I'm certainly looking forward to this competition.
