Ok, so i've noticed an odd trend happening recently: on every competition page with red hot attending, people from many WV choirs and even some OH choirs have been trashing them. Having once competed against red hot at Fairfield, i honestly can't see why. They are one of the kindest and most respectful show choirs i've ever met, and they are a very talented group. Yet i see many people associated with many WV choirs that post derogatory comments toward hurricane constantly. Also, these competition results are confusing to me. I've seen hurricane's show twice now and to me, it seems like a winner. Yet each week the results come out and Hurricane's in 3rd, 4th, or lower. it's something that profoundly confuses me. But back to the point, can someone please give a reason for all the Hurricane bashing? because it seems pretty pointless to me.

As great as it would be for all the West Virginia groups to all get along, it isn't possible. It's so ridiculously competitive that it could basically never happen. It seems like everyone has at least something against each other. If not, you got little cliques of groups in different parts of the state who all support each other, but only themselves, and that's it. It's ridiculous, but it's the truth. That's all i'm sayin.

As a veteran of the game, this is partially true. Groups that go out of state to compete usually get support from the other groups in the state. Usually, that is. Of course inside the state, we all still have our little rivalries. It's a competitive "sport", for lack of a better word, so at least a tinge of rivalry is guaranteed.

It could have come from Hurricane, it could have not come from Hurricane
I just know said person has only commented on topics relating to Hurricane, and none other.
I could say that I'm from Dayton, OH too, but that doesn't mean I am.
Either way, my point stands whether the person was from Hurricane or from the other side of the country.

I just know that people should not come and post things like "Oh, this group got rigged, there must be some reason other than the performance that made the other win!"
I don't know how this would even be possible.

Regardless of who said it, I still think that show choirs such as Poca and Hurricane should have mutual respect for one another.
We're two great groups.
Even your group Nitro is a great West Virginia group.
We need to get back to the joy of performing aspect of show choir.
While I'm ecstatic that Poca won at the ARTS, as I said, it could have went either way.
And we should respect one another, not be posting things inferring that my group was not up to par.

actually I am pretty sure he is not from Hurricane, but either way I don't see what was wrong with Cofferon10's comment, I mean he did say "well it is only a matter of my opinion"... congrats to all choirs!!!

The requirement to be on this site is you are to be affiliated with a school when you are posting.

And I would agree from his whole 14 some posts it is safe to assume he is affiliated with them.

Congrats to all choirs, I would love to see some WV show choir live some time

I have to agree with the dislike button.
I feel like Poca performed better in the second half than the first.
While I didn't see it, as I was performing it, the overall choir feel was that we did better during finals.

I did see Hurricane's performance during finals, and I will say, I was impressed.
But I do feel like through all the hard work my choir went through, we deserved it, although it could have gone either way.

I don't understand why two powerhouse choirs in West Virginia can't just be happy for each other, not post accusations on showchoir.com such as "Well, Poca didn't deserve it, but congrats, I guess."

well it is only a matter of my opinion. Hurricane had a much much better finals performance whereas Poca stayed the same. I believe Hurricane deserved it, but congratulations to Visual Volume on the win!!!

Can we have a dis-like button for this "(
