Also Urbandales competition and Johnston's competition attract many of the Iowa powerhouses and thats considerably closer than Davenport.

Come farther east - Cedar Rapids and Davenport both host some really good competitions. The drive isn't that bad

We also went to Lewis Central this year (which is in Iowa, Hrbek). LC was one of my favorite competitions by far. I really liked having CCTV in every room so groups can relax and still see groups. Additionally, the hosts were great.

Really, any competition that has homerooms and doesn't have every group in a common area makes me happy.

not for at least the rest of this yr. we almost always go to waukee, but im sure it would be great to go to another competition on your turf.

It is good to see the scores. Man that was pretty close though you guys really deserved it. I am proud of us and Xavier I hope we meet again.

Do you guys tend to go to any Iowa comps?

Good to see they are giving out scores. As I stated before, in past years they didn't give out prelims or finals scores.

Congrats to Xavier on a well deserved win.

I think Adam was referring to daytime score sheets, not finals scores.

That's weird. We received our daytime sheets and it had everyone's scores. We usually receive our score sheets for daytime at the competitions we go to. So I would say it is normal for us.

No remember there was something wrong with the printer. So they said they would email our directors as soon as possible.

I think Adam was referring to daytime score sheets, not finals scores. From what I heard, Mr. Manley was not too keen on releasing scores to groups in finals - not even just the group's own scores. Since this is such a common practice elsewhere, I was wondering (like he was) if that's the norm over there or not.

I'm looking forward to seeing finals scores. Interested to see how close this one ended up.

Is it common for judges to not recieve score sheets after the daytime results? Everywhere we go except for this comp the directors always get to see score sheets so I'm curious if this is a Nebraska thing or an Omaha North thing.

Haha. Again, not a common Nebraska thing.

And by judges I mean the directors

For having only a piano, drum set, and keyboard, I thought you guys did very well. We aren't used to seeing groups that have combos like that. We have a full 19 piece combo including guitar, bass, trumpet, trombone, saxophone - even a violin - so needless to say it was surprising to see such an impressive group with a backup combo like that

hahaha- getting best band was the real surprise of the competition for us! But thanks Xavier for the compliments on our show and ballad- it means a lot.

EsAreUnimportant-"Your combo did a great job for only having four members (I think it was 4?)"

Actually we had 3, but usually there are 4 people back there, but our director for the combo had food poisoning.
