When my daughter, who is now a senior, was in middle school, we were told there had been some copyright issue, and Waukee was not allowed to sell DVDs. The upside was always that parents were free to videotape at Waukee -- you don't get the same quality, obviously, but you don't have to spend $20 - $30 or wait for the DVD to arrive in the mail.

We would if we could. We are not allowed to sell DVDs.

Why are you not allowed to..?

i'm so confused by this post!
and i believe it's Kamerin Churchman

Perpetual Motion is Ankeny's JV choir, Intensity is their all women's choir, and Internal Combustion is their 9th grade prep choir.

Well that stinks. I got to see part of our day show DVD in the critique. I really, really wanted a finals DVD since our prep made it in too and my son is in that group. Oh well....

Seriously though...who has a competition without DVDs for sale? Waukee should add this to their "how can we improve our competition" checklist.

Sorry Mr. Temple but we had something happen about six years ago...it had to do with copyright or something. I'm not sure. In any case though we can not and won't be able to sell dvd's to people. Kinda stinks but that's just how it goes. I graduated last year and I haven't gotten a dvd from our school since '02-'03 season.

Sixth finalist is Papillon-La Vista South, performng first. (There was a mention of the schedule switching. My guess is that Mitchell would go first in case of weather?)

3A:
1st- Carroll
2nd- Winterset

Prep:
1- Urbandale
2- Ankeny PM
3- Ankeny Intensity
4- Ankeny IC
5- Lewis Central

Best Band- Urbandale
Best F solo: Ankeny, Cameron Churchman (sp?)
Best M solo: Urbandale, Ben... something (Guslag? Couldn't hear.)

I heard on our bus last night that there is no DVD for finals but there is one for the day round. However I'm not sure how you could order one.

Can anybody provide DVD info for this competition? Were there DVDs for sale? I'm really hoping the finals were recorded.

All of Titanium had a blast at Waukee! It was a good way to start the competition season for us. Urbandale and Ankeny- I am so glad I had a chance to see you in finals! Both of you had awesome performances. Mitchell and Louis Central both had great performances too. Thanks to Waukee for the amazing day!

Studio, FANTASTIC JOB!! I know it had been awhile since you competed, but it sounds like you came back from your competitive layoff strong! Mr Woodin, Mr Temple and I are so proud of you guys! Just keep your eye on the ball at Emmetsburg, then Florida will be an incredible performance/reward hosting Showstoppers, and I can't wait to see you there! God Bless, Damon

Wow, that's intense. A middle school choir beating a prep choir. Ankeny breeds amazingness, I think. <:

FYI--Urbandale Vitality is a Prep group, not a middle school group.
