I do want to say what Lee Davis did with the percussion was cool, but I didn't totally get how that fit into Boogie Wonderland..
I think it's because, on the soundtrack and in the movie, all of the foot stomps handled in the later portion of the song is done by percussion, with the exception of Mumble himself. Also, in the soundtrack, there is actual drumming for the sake of drumming in the last few seconds of the song.
Thanks to the Amherst director for your kind words. You have always been very encouraging to me at competitions and I really appreciate that...especially right now. I think I just need some time to invigorated again for the upcoming season.
I was just looking through the results. I had thought Amherst got 3rd in Mixed A show choir, but it looks like I am mistaken.
Here's the full list of results from both days:
Concert Choir
3rd Bethel "Concert Choir"
2nd Hanover "Mixed Chamber Singers"
1st Bethel "Indigo"
Chamber Choir
3rd Hanover "Women's Chamber"
2nd Thomas Dale "Chamber Ensemble"
1st Lee Davis "Chamber Ensemble"
Thanks for the cool words about Amherst. I appreciate the support, especially from Directors. I agree with everyone about TD Ballad. However, sometimes timing is everything and :Letters" has such a powerful story. It hits home for lots of people and the students really did sing it well, they sing it with so much emotion. Both the female and Male soloist went to Amherst as well. Thanks for mentioning us.
I do want to say what Lee Davis did with the percussion was cool, but I didn't totally get how that fit into Boogie Wonderland.. But again the students loved the cool factor. Congratulations to Lee Davis. Thaomas Dale your Ballad was amazing.
Menchville stick in there, all the hard work will pay off, don't get discouraged. I remember getting Goods in stead of excellents when we first started. I enjoyed your show.
I just loved TD's ballad this year. I couldn't wait to hear it at every competition. Then again, TD has been one of my favorite show choirs since we started competing. I really love their sound. To me, they find that just right spot in between sounding broadway and opera.
Congratulations to Amherst on their debut in the "A" category. To me, you proved time of day doesn't matter. Thank you for the inspiration.
Congratulations to all the choirs on this show choir season. I guess it's time to start doing it all over again!!!
Amherst's ballad was Letters From War...Mt. Zion did an AMAZING version of it a while ago
but yeah...i wasnt there but i couldnt imagine another group performing a ballad better than Thomas Dale...its one of my favorite songs I have ever seen a group do
but Congrats to everyone this year...unfortunately my time in show choir is done so i wont be here next year
haha. i know you didn't.
that's why i put the "lol" behind it.
i'm not really into argueing anyways.
Matoaca's mixed group is High Impact.
i don't understand how amherst's ballad was

Actually, I don't want to argue with you...I just wanted to say hello! We have different opinions of different things, and I think that's okay. I don't think we need to force each other to agree.
However, I should have done this before the awards. I was to crushed afterwards to talk to anyone. :-(
Anyways, here is some more on the results, to add to your post.

Joedaddy...looks like I might meet you tonight. It was mentioned to me that I should check out tonight's competition. Since many of our local choirs will be in attendance, I will have to do that!!!
I really hope Thomas Dale takes this one...i def think they should have placed at Manchester and Hanover so hopefully they will win cus they deserve it
Cosby's prom is that day, so we obviously wont be there
