yeah, ovation got best choreo, vocals, band and female soloist. maybe more? idk. It was a fun comp tho. I wish finals wouldn't have been cancelled. It'd be interesting to see how the things would have ended with second performances.

Congrats Jefferson what a great day! Ovation amazing job placing in the top six great job and sweeping your division. Westside what can I say it took four long years for you to have your moment and it finally came. After the last few rough weeks I am glad you all came together! Today at Benton because of the weather they did not hold finals, and picked the top 6 groups during day rounds. the results were as follows.
5th runner up- Dansville
4th runner up- Jefferson Ovation
3rd runner up- Iowa City High
2nd runner up- Prairie
1st runner up- Xavier
GC- Jefferson Westside Delegation
Best male soloist- Steve Geodken (!)
Best Female Soloist- sry, didnt catch the name...from dansville i believe
Best Band- Jefferson Westside
Best Choreography- Jefferson Westide

Here's what I know from this competition, correct me if I'm wrong:
Prairie was 3 points away from Xavier. Xavier was 3 points away from Jefferson. Xavier was also 1/2 point away from Prairie for Best Vocals.
I didn't get to see Prairie or WSD, but I heard that all three of our shows were extremely close together and could have been put in any order as far as placement. I really feel like this was a competition where finals would have brought out the best in every group... but you can't control the weather.
Can't wait to see Jefferson at the Kennedy Invitational.

Does a prep group automatically make finals here at benton????
Back when I used to compete there the top scoring 2A/3A show choir made finals along with the top 5 overall scorers. I don't know if that is still the case. To my knowledge, there has never been a rule saying the top prep group makes finals.
