Whether you like it or not, what you say and type on this page is a REFLECTION on your school and group. If you were in the bathroom and you over hear some Chula girls saying "Did you see their dresses?? OMG, so hideous! and their hair.... OMG".... (And they were talking about YOUR group) You would go back to your group and tell them.... "Those Chula girls said... blah blah bah"
Then next thing you know, the words have excalated into something it should have never become.
Please be considerate, and perhaps "private messages" to those whom you wish to make a point may be a better path to take.

Please keep in mind that while I respect everyone's right to speak what is on their mind, I will not tolerate personal attacks or obscenities. Users who violate the terms of service will be removed, it's as simple as that.
For those who have taken some of these posts to heart, please remember that 95% of the people who visit and participate in these forums are high school students and there is bound to be a natural level of friction and/or opposing viewpoints which will occur. showchoir.com was created for the purpose of discussing show choir, and that includes constructive critiscm - so while we certainly like to focus on the "good," healthy discussion includes thoughts on both sides. I have dealt with those who have crossed the line and I appreciate everyone else for keeping it clean. Have a great week off, and we'll see everyone at Arcadia.

Posts like this should not be tolerated at all, and I honestly don't believe you are from Los Alamitos "Extreme". you not only degrade and embarass yourself by posting such immature and ignorant remarks, you also tarnish the reputation of your choir and the school you claim to "represent". Learn from how other people post on this forum and learn some manners as well.

Congrats to everyone last night; I had a great time! The video was pretty great, a little risque in some parts, but that was part of the fun. ;)
GUAVAMANGOMAN, I'M THE TECH DAD FOR BURBANK AND THE TRUTH IS THAT THE REASONS FOR NOT USING THE BACKDROPS WERE TWO-FOLD. # 1 WAS DUE TO TIME. AS IT WAS OUR SET WAS 19:58 MINUTES AND IF WE HAD DONE THE NEW CLOSER AND TAKEN THE TIME TO SET UP AND TAKE DOWN THE BACKDROPS WE WOULD HAVE GONE OVERTIME. THE OTHER REASON IS THAT I AM PERSONALLY IN CHARGE OF PREPPING AND SETTING UP THE BACKDROPS AND I COULDN'T GET THERE ON SATURDAY UNTIL 6:00 PM DUE TO A FAMILY COMMITMENT. THE PROCESS OF PREPPING THE BACKDROPS TAKES @ 2 HOURS PER CHOIR AND EVEN IF TIME WERE'NT AN ISSUE I COULDN'T HAVE HAD THEM READY IN TIME FOR IN SYNC'S PERFORMANCE. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT MR. CARROL WILL ALWAYS HAVE BURBANK'S CHOIRS DO THE VERY BEST SHOW POSSIBLE FOR THE AUDIENCE. I PROMISE YOU WILL SEE THE WHOLE SHOW AT SO CAL AND ARCADIA AND HART IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. (BY THE WAY, IMPRESSIONS AND IN SYNC WILL NOT BE COMPETING AT HART DUE TO CONFLICTING SCHOOL SCHEDULES AFFECTING A NUMBER OF OUR SENIORS). the schools who usually place 1st 2nd 3rd - consistently, past and present, weren't given the right placements. it's a slap in the face.
Wow, talk about a slap in the face to Brea and Arcadia. Should groups that win who aren't "the top three" hand over their trophies to the "chosen few" and declare their unworthiness? Until everyone on here that keeps bitching about the outcome become judges, maybe we should just be happy for everyone that competed and have a good time instead of all this drama. Let Brea and Arcadia enjoy thier victory. No wonder there is no good sportsmanship award given.

No where in my original post am I referring to Arcadia, I tend not to really pay attention to what choir somebody's from when I'm skimming through a topic. And to the point that I was originally making, I think we need to agree that placements really do matter to us. It's a display of much our work has payed off in comparison to the groups around us. If placements didn't matter, then no competitive environment would be what it is today, including show choir. And getting music technically is a placement, it's 1st place in music to be exact. If placements didn't matter, then we wouldn't have competitons, we'd have performances and then go home before any such thing as awards which sounds like a snooze fest to me. Performing is most of what show choir's all about, but to say that placements shouldn't matter makes no sense.
Now this is not an attack on anyone's opinion or on specific group, I want to make that clear considering how out of hand this topic has gotten.
ha. why don`t you just straight up call out arcadia on that? if our director doesn`t complain about it as long as we get music, why should we?

To all the "new" posters out there, PLEASE take a look around you and observe how others post on this forum. You'll notice that very few people name call, make personal attacks, or verbally degrade another choir. I know you may not think so, but what you post here reflects upon your choir, whether you want it to or not.
There is a fine line between expressing your opinions and attacking someone else in the process. That line has most definitely been crossed multiple times in this topic.
