I hate to bring this back... but does ANYONE know who filmed this competition? We have been looking all over the place!

Thanks!

It doesn't sound like you understand the ISSMA scoring system. There are 2 scores for vocals, 2 scores for visuals, and an instrumental score. However, the instrumental score is not factored into the rankings. So you would only count 4 of the 5 scores when determining why Edgewood didn't make finals. Now I have no way of knowing which one of the scores you referenced was the instrumental score so we can't know if the 8th place score tanked you or not.

Just thought I would clarify how the system works. I didn't see Edgewood so I can't comment on if you should have been in the finals or not - based on my opinion - sorry.

That is what our director told us before we left. Were there not 2 Vocal and 2 Choreography judges as well as 1 Instrumental? It was't the instrumental judge that tanked us, I believe it was one of the visual judges. Not a big deal, just thought we had a good showing. Every group brought their A-Game and we didn't.

We were told that we had two judges that had us with scores that put us in 3rd, two judges who would have had us in 4th and one who would have had us in 8th.

Congrats to everyone, I enjoyed all your shows.

Depressing day for Edgewood. Two Judges had them in 3rd, Two Judges had them in 4th and one had them in 8th which killed their score and took them out of the top five. I thought you guys did AMAZING today and don't hang your heads, just work hard in practice and good things will come.

Wait... what? lol

I take two years off from caring about show choir and this happens?

Then again, I shouldn't be surprised.

Did Heather Simpson leave Warren Central? Does anyone know where she is now? I had her for her first three years of teaching, but then her last name was Zirkman.

Thanks!

She did leave Warren Central! The current director is Todd Hawks who is a Butler grad and former member of Franklin Central's FC Singers! Each year under him they have gotten better and this year is looking to continue that trend

Huntington North: Yay! Congrats! I was so proud of everyone in the group. You guys put your game faces on a brought it! I was so proud to be sitting in the audience cheering everyone on!

Warren Central: Vocals? AMAZING. Oh my goodness....absolutely stunning. I sat in the audience with my hair standing on end. Absolutely gorgeous and a well deserved caption win. I look forward to hearing more good things about you in the future. Congratulations

Another side note... It was crazy to see how much influence last year's North Central show has had on choirs this year.

agreed.

It was a great competition yesterday-- Huntington was probably the best choir I saw all day, but I hear Warren Central brought it out, too.

Another side note... It was crazy to see how much influence last year's North Central show has had on choirs this year. Some things could have, and probably were coincidence. For some similarities, I'm not sure sure. I could be wrong.
