Spain Park - What can I say?  I have been rooting for yall from the beginning.  Yall blessed me so much by letting me help with the choreography.  If only you knew how awesome yall were.  As far as Jazz Fest goes yall kicked some major ass.  Vocally i almost cried after the opener b/c it was so good.  and the choreo was so so so much better and cleaner this year.

I saw every group yesterday...and if I remember Boaz only has a girl group...but I could be wrong. I wasn't very impressed with any of the girl groups except Auburn and The Divas...I am an alumni of the Auburn Women's Show Choir...and I definitely have to say I am so proud of that group this year...they really stepped it up. I cried like 3 or 4 times during their performance. And there was a lot of stuff in Auburn's Varsity Singers show that amazed me too...like the fact that they started half of their show this month. And that most of it was arranged by a junior in the choir. but that's all stuff you wouldn't have known without having the connections I do to the choir. I'm not trying to say that they were the best I agree with the results of Jazzfest...I'm just saying I was extremely impressed at what that group did in such a short time. And my Sarah did a duet thing...she is one of the most timid people I have veer met...sorry for going off on that. But I was very satisfied with the results

i have to disagree with Trey on this one...even though Opelika's vocals were stronger than they have been in a while Spain Park won vocals....nobody all day came even close to touching them vocally...they had variety, incredible dynamics, finished all phrases, amazing blend, and the band was incredible and very much complimented the vocals...but i do agree with that being the top 5 in that order...also i know this isn't the right forum thingy but congrats to Albertville and what's up to Caleb (im friends with Will Casey) cant wait to see yall in like 2 weeks

I actually think that the judges got it right with the mised division this year... In my opinion, the rank was:

1.) Spain Park
2.) Enterprise
3.) Auburn
4.) Opelika
5.) Tallassee

Opelika and Enterprise were a little disappointing because they are both usually ENERGY packed. Neither really showed that much energy. The good news is that both have shows with mush potential. If Auburn gave out a caption award for "best vocals", Opelika may have won it. That was the best that I've heard Ovations in a LOOONG time. Great job and keep up the good work. The major adjustments that need to be made is an increase in energy, and the band wasn't loud enough making the dance breaks seem bland. Tell them to get loud during the dance breaks.

Congrats to Spain Park though... This competition was up for the taking and you guys jumped up and grabbed it.

Chris...the third judge wasn't the Ukranian woman..she was the sightreading judge. The third judge has been conducting in LaGrange and Troup County and was a former AU Singer. I forgot her name though

I am very happy with the mixed group results because I think they were on target as well. I always enjoy Spain Park although I didn't get to see their performance this year, but i heard nothing but awesome things about their show. They vocally are incredible and I heard the choreagraphy was great too. I think they deserve  everything they get because they are such humble, friendly, and supportive ppl!
Enterprise what can i say...you guys rock every year and yall are such a strong group. one of, if not the best in the state in my opinion. Auburn, wow u guys did really good this year. great energy and sound also. An opinion on my group--- i was i guess OKAY with our performance as a whole, but i do not think by any means we were ready for auburn. probably due to our lack of focus in practice. i know i was  dissapointed in my personal performance greatly. goodness, i've never really had a blank out on stage, but yesterday my mind must have been elsewhere, because i forgot so much stuff for some reason. and o gosh, i have to redeem myself next time because i felt that was the worst solo i have ever done, i guess it was partly because i didn't get the mic in time and partly because i couldn't find my water backstage to help my tiring voice.  i think maybe auburn was a bit of a reality check for opelika, because we have alot to work  and  clean up ahead of us. thanx to au singers for being so nice. good luck to every1. can't wait to see yall at southern showcase.

I thought that opelika's show was lacking something, but it definately wasn't vocals because that was the best sound I have heard from y'all in a long time. The backdrops getting moved one by one during your performance distracted me somewhat, but I thought that it was a good performance all in all. Energy was lacking too, but that is nothing that can't be fixed. And as for your solo, I thought you did a good job, and besides, even if you think it's not your best, the crowd still thinks its awesome, and that's who your performing for. good luck with the rest of your competition season!

Jazz Fest was awsome. It's a shame it's the only competition that Auburn is going to. I especially loved the choir where the guys did "I'll be there." The soloist was was sooooo good. Oh, and congratulations to all those who won. Y'all deserved it.

Well...first off i would like to say that i thoroughly enjoyed helping host Jazz Fest. this year. It was a lot better than i expected and i had tons of fun with my Homewood friends that drove down (except for now they prob. think im like insane b/c it had been a long day and i kinda went a little crazy...lol). I have to say that I agree with Chris on this one. I actually had no probs. with the rankings this year.

Enterprise - As always proved that there is a reason they are called the machine. Yall were incredible and the closing outfits were OUTRAGEOUS!!! I LOVED THEM! (In fact i think i have a jacket almost just like that from American Eagle...lol) Yall were incredible. And i have to give a shout out to all of my SCA friends. Way to represent. I was very excited throughout yalls show.

Auburn - I was a little sketch coming into today b/c i had seen a few of the dress rehearsals but OMG way to pull it together. That is def the best performance by Varsity Singers that I've ever seen. Incredible vocals and awesome choreo (way to go Eron, Will, and Angela!) And i absolutely LOVED the soloist in the guys number way to Milk that song for EVERYTHING that it's worth. Awesome and very deserving of a top 3 finishing.

Opelika - I have to say that I was a little jealous that I didn't get to be in Ovations this year b/c I see such bonding and such a strong group. I also have to say WOW what a blend you have vocally..especially the guys. LOVED the show. On another note....I hope that some Opelika peeps saw that their little rumors that I stole their choreo and gave it to Auburn was false b/c as everyone that attended Jazz fest could see. They were two totally different shows. I appreciate the peeps that decided to come and ask me about it before talking crap and getting mad. What great leaders you are for setting an example to handle it in a mature manner...ill be back on later ..night!

SPAIN PARK- AWESOME!! AWESOME!!! y'all stepped it up majorly in choreography this year but somehow managed to keep that great vocal sound...i really liked the cosutmes and the energy was definately there! ....just one more time...AWESOME!!

WOW thanks....unfoutunatly we were unable to see everyone that was after Eufula ...but at Opelika we plan to see everyone else that we missed today (or yesterday) but then again PRCC is that day....so it might have to wait til homewood.....and if we miss yall there then, we might just have to watch the video... I think everyone did a great job that i saw

wow...what an awesome first competition!! this was the first time in a while that i COMPLETELY agreed with the results...

SPAIN PARK- AWESOME!! AWESOME!!! y'all stepped it up majorly in choreography this year but somehow managed to keep that great vocal sound...i really liked the cosutmes and the energy was definately there! ....just one more time...AWESOME!!

ENTERPRISE- I LOOOOOVE THE CLOSING OUTFITS!! it reminded me of a gap commercial (in a good way! ;)) y'all still had the awesome stage presence and energy that you normally do...you kind of lost some vocal energy though as the show progressed but y'all still did great!

AUBURN- wow....MAJOR improvements from last year! and y'all definately had THE MOST ENERGY of any choirs i've seen recently...AND...a costume change...lol

OPELIKA- overall pretty good show...i think what really hurt you though was a big lack in energy..the vocals have definately improved a lot since last year (especially in the ballad)...i really enjoyed lauren's solo this year too!! i think it fit her really well...even with short hair that girl is still an awesome performer....lol...i'm excited to see y'all again at homewood

i am SO ready to compete now!!
