QUOTE(gr8escape @ Feb 14 2004, 02:14 PM)
There was a group of parents who did a lot of the 'constructing', but it was the input of many adults/parents who allowed the concept that was brought to us to come to fruition.  We did have some students helping out, though, as they were available.

We 'moms' have all kinds of talent; be grateful we leave the dancing/singing to the kids!  And I'm sure you'll do the same for your kids someday.

mrs munley said the parents are gonna make a show choir lol. how's that comin?

I thought the moms made it? Atleast thats what i was told. And as far as lights placing second, the point ranges are different when you are judging Single-Gender and mixed divisions.. i bet if you look at the Jr. High scores there were some up pretty high up there too.. its hard to explain but its the range of high>low within class scoring.. im sure someone knows what i mean.

I have it on good authority that Mundelein Lights did place 2nd behind Mundelein Sound overall, but I can't remember the point difference.

And thanks for the comment on the backdrop change during 'Electric Youth'; we'd tell you the secret on how it was made, but then we'd have to kill ya! LOL!

We're just glad to hear someone enjoyed it and got a kick out of it. Thanks Manteno for your great hospitality!

I only got a chance to see Mundelien Sound. For the most part your show was pretty good.. Awesome vocals as usual. But be careful because personally i feel that your crazy diction takes away from your show at certain points because its soo overdone and out of the norm...its hard to concentrate and understand specific phrasing. Your choreo was really really clean i applaud you guys on that, but in the same aspect your choreo wasnt exactly hard, but you do kick it up a notch in the closer. Your energy was incredible too, everyone had their faces on the whole time. Although one thing that bothered me kinda, it was the use of MIDI files via a snyth in your show (prerecorded). It was weird seeing your director pushing buttons to start certain pre-recorded sequences. BUT certain single sound effects used were pretty cool (including that one in your electric closer that builds and builds and builds...good job on that one Mr. N.) Your second backdrop was spectacular, i literally said Holy Sh*t when it first appeard.. but word of advice -- crew dont shake it so hard!! its good enough with just some simple waves. Also..tell Mr. N that i think your strobes (the ones along the front) would be wayyyy more effective if you placed then facing backward or forward underneath the first riser..You would def. be able to notice them with your dryice there.. Any your little opening thing... was way cool. Anyways there are my thoughts

No. Manteno doesn't have finals. The final overall winners are determined from total scores. Mundelien did great. They only had like six points deducted out of 480 total. Also... the soloist from Herscher that won the solo competition was awesome. She should try out for American Idol.

I am confused...

Were there finals at Manteno?

showchoir.net has these results:
Grand Champion: Mundelein "Sound" - IL
1st Runner-up: Hersey "On Stage" - IL
2nd Runner-up: Wheeling "New Dawns" - IL
3rd Runner-up: Eisenhower "Express" - IL
4th Runner-up: Shepard "NOVA" - IL
5th Runner-up: Rolling Meadows "New Directions" - IL

is that just AAA?
