Findlay I think has mastered the art of magic...

Suddenly... BAM everyone has taps on! then, BAM! Everyone has a tamborine! No crew in sight, and no leaving the stage... do you guys have extra compartments in your body that I don't know about? lol

Well kids, this was a great competition. Here are my thoughts on it:

GC - Medina. Congratulations. I finally got to see your show in prelims, and it was very good. I loved 'Zoot Suit Riot' - especially the soloist, awesome job - and your ballad was incredible. However, 'I'm Too Sexy' was too much and not a song - it was just speaking. Rethink that one.

1st RU - Hurricane. What an awesome show. I enjoyed you more than Medina, I'd have to say. Your theme rocked, and you sounded great. 'Too Darn Hot' was the sweetest thing ever, and that gospel song was amazing. I was a little freaked out to learn that a few guys in your choir are a little obsessed with me (and I am a guy myself) and have t-shirts with my last name on it. But that's cool, I guess... " border="0" alt="ermm.gif" />

2nd RU - Findlay. You guys were really good. I liked the tap number and the tambourines. My only problem was that all of your songs sounded the same - same tempo, same style. It made the show feel a little long. But great job, nonetheless.

3rd RU - Twinsburg. The most well-deserved award of the evening. I did not see Twinsburg on that stage, I saw some other pretty good choir that called themselves Twinsburg. You really weren't up to your own standards. You looked and sounded tired (even though it was late, that's never been a problem for you), and the normal 'Twinsburg flair' wasn't there. Your theme is incredible, and your physical set is drop-dead gorgeous. But you didn't have the goods to back it up.

4th RU - Teays Valley. The biggest shaft of the evening. You were incredible. The choreography, the vocals, the soloists - everything. I love you guys!

5th RU - Marysville. A good show. Nice vocals, clean choreography. I was happy for you guys because you seemed genuinely happy and surprised when you made finals, treating it as a privelege - which it always is. Some groups in the auditorium didn't treat it that way, but you guys knew what it was all about. Great performance overall.

6th RU - Poca. Sorry for all the confusion, guys. It was some obscure rule that I personally didn't know about until I found out you had made finals. But nice show. Your vocals were very good, but your songs were a little boring. Nice job though. And you did the robot in the opener - I love you for that!!!

Solon - I'm so glad I finally got to see you. You guys sounded beautiful, danced well, and just did well overall. It was an honor to host you. We love Solon!

Actually, I'm pretty sure that it was Findlay who got 2nd RU and Twinsburg got 3rd RU. At least that's what I remember hearing from backstage. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Hurricane did a "Red Hot" show. It was songs dealing with heat, or fire.

Hurricane!!! I'm so proud!

Actually Twinsburg wasn't on par at all with what I saw last year. I only saw the finals show, and thier vocals seemed tired/choreo seemed sloppy. Them must have done better at prelims because I think they were ranked 1st...

I don't know about Teays. I had to get my group to warm-ups... I'm buying a video with them on it though.

Hurricane, though... whoo! You guys had the vocals of last year (times 2) combined with insane choreography throughout the WHOLE show! No one can complain about "too many ballads, blah, blah, blah" anymore You guys rock!

Yeah, you're right ... I have no clue why I thought Twinsburg won that ... I probably meant to post they won Best Crew rather then Best Soloists. I'm stupid. lol.

congrats to medina and all the choirs at the competition today....everyone did a wonderful job. Whether we agree with the results or not, we just need to let this go, and see what happens in 4 weeks at Twinsburg

teays valley and findlay- just want to say that everyone i was with today at the competition agreed that you all have some amazing vocals. i just want to send a personal congrats to you all. Both shows are amazing, and I just wanted to take the time to tell you how much we enjoyed your shows

Also, not to start any drama, but just to post correct information:

Twinsburg won Best Soloists,

Twinsburg did not recieve the Best Soloists awards. The female soloist went to Amanda Kessel from Poca, and to Chris Edwards from Hurricane

The groups who made finals were:

Poca
Hurricane
Findlay
Medina
Teays Valley
Twinsburg
Marysville

Marysville was tied in 6th after prelims with Solon. They won the tie-breaker and were announced for finals.

However -- class champions automatically make finals, and there was a mistake. Therefore, Poca was added into finals as well.

Twinsburg won Best Soloists, Best Costumes, Best Show Design, and Best Choreography.

Medina won Best Vocals -- over Findlay and Teays, I'm very confused about this ... arg.

I'd say top two are Twinsburg, and Findlay.

Mentor or Solon didn't make finals. I'm extremely sad. One of them (if not both) definitely deserved to, but that's alright since this was a really tough competition. However, I do think Mentor had points taken from them because they have a professional drummer, I definitely think their show is better then a group or two that made finals.

I'm waiting for final results. Congratulations everyone! You all rock!
