I think Enterprise could have gotten first, but I think Enterprise and Homewood performed the best at Southern Showcase.
Enterprise's choreographer, Marty DeMott, was my choreographer when I was in Ovations (Opelika HS)... The ball number that they did, Ovations did my Soph year (1998) as well as Ain't No Mountain High Enough.
Anyways, I think the judges did a good job capturing the the top 2, but your right... it could have gone either way.
I don't know about anyone else, but I personally thought that Enterprise got screwed over. Their show was so awesome with the ball number and the Bon Jovi song. I am still trying to figure out how Homewood ended up with first place. Their show was good but nowhere near the level of Enterprise's. Albertville has still not improved any over past years. Eufaula was great and have really improved in the past few years. I thought that it should have been:
Well, AU Jazz Festival was last week, and Southern Showcase is this week. We are now in the swing of the show choir season. The following upper echelon show choirs will be in Opelika for the Southern Showcase: Albertville, Enterprise, Eufaula, and Homewood.
Although my predictions for the AU Jazz Festival were a little of (b/c of what I STILL call poor judging), I will still give my predictions for Southern Showcase.
1st - Enterprise
2nd - Homewood
3rd - Albertville
WildCard - Eufaula
Anyways, it should be a thrilling competition with a few of the better show choirs attending. Petal I heard is not coming, and Opelika is hosting the event therefore they are NOT competing.
