I just want to say THANK YOU to Chula for making my last competition wonderful!! Our hosts were so awesome too--thanks Jesika and krystine (i think that's how you spell them)!
When MA started doing Defying Gravity, my first reaction was "huh?" Then I was like "nooooo it's gonna make me cry!" and then I started bawling. so when they grabbed the mike and Ashley popped up--I practically peed myself. That was so amazing guys, thanks for doing such a wonderful rendition.
Congrats to everyone--you were all incredible. This year was the toughest competition season yet. Kudos to Burroughs and Burbank for always staying on top! Yours are the only sets I don't get sick of.
I love my Sound Vibes more than anything!! It's been amazing being co-choir prez this year w/ Gerald, and I'm so proud of all our choirs. Hartbreakers, I LOVE YOU!! Sweetharts and Hart n Soul, you have so much talent!! and Unleashed... too sexy.
Hope everyone had a great year!! Come see Spring Concert May 19 and 20.

Thanks to everyone who came!

I am amazed what Burbank did yesterday... NO SCHOOL has ever swept ALL 3 divisions at our competition before! Kudos to Brett Carroll and everyone at BURBANK! "Cold As Ice" is one of my favorite rock songs of all time! "Prayer Of the Children" was stunning.... "Spies In The Night" was great!

Tech Crew Nation = Burbank, Chula, John Burroughs and Hart was SO AMAZING last night! Even the union tech crew at the Concourse was impressed on how professional our tech crews combined and worked so efficiently together! Probably the best display of cooperation I have EVER seen at any competition in the past 20 years!

Hart... I hope you enjoyed our tribute. (even though some who take ownership of songs somehow can't let go) We did a similar tribute in 2002 for both Burroughs and Burbank when we did "Man In The Mirror" (Todd was at Burroughs first when he did Workin' Day and Night). Their alumni LOVED that! In 2003 we did "Season of Love" for BV.
2005 was for you Hart, and I am glad that you enjoyed that. We loved it!

Oceano was breathtaking and stunning!

Thanks to Burroughs for the confetti and streamer canons. It really made people JUMP! on your closer! Thanks for doing it again at the end of the night for us! Powerhouse and Sound Sensations are such fantastic groups! I was your biggest fan in Branson! Bringing Rago on stage was precious!

BV, like always... gets better with time! Congrats on both groups placing. With this placement, Music Machine and Sound has placed at EVERY So Cal since 1995! That is a record in itself!

The girl from Diamond Bar who sang "On My Own" was soooooooo good! If we had 2 best female performers, she would have got the other one! I always love Diamond Bar shows! So much energy! Always awesome soloists!

Los Alamitos has such a fun show this year! I hope you all had a BLAST at Dicks Last Resort! Hip To Be Square is an audience favorite! .... by the way.. I graduated in 1985.... great song!

The new show choir tanks look great on all the girls!

I can't wait for the DVD....

Haakon... I didn't see you until the end... I saw you in the audience... what time did you get there?

Serrano, I am glad you were able to come! Even though it was last minute! Your director is great... Consider yourselves lucky! I see great things in your future!

The Boy's division ROCKED!

I am impressed how much better Eastlake and Carlsbad has gotten! Great shows both of you!

Soloist of "Too Hot" has a great voice....

That was my first time seeing "Our Director Says"... very nicely done!

Finally thanks to my students in The Main Attraction! You all did fabulous in hosting! Thanks for making this competition a great one!

Have a great summer all!

wow...this is so surreal...To end off my freshman year with my Hartbreakers at Chula 4 years ago...and now to end my entire show choir career with my family at Chula.  It has truly been an honor to be a part of show choir all my years at Hart and is probably the only thing that has kept me in school.  I feel as though--although not a sweepstakes first place grand champion year--we were so amazing this year.  As a group and expecially as a family.  I couldn't have asked for a better senior year and cant imagine (haha like my tat) what it would've been like without you guys.  The fabulous 4 girls-you know who you are-kept me alive in sound vibes--and sane.  I love my baby boy and am so proud of you and how far you've come.  Katrina and ashley--we spent 4 years in the same group and i didn't even realzie that until we talked about it...crazy...Adrian-you are amazing and i cant say much more about you...not only your voice...but wow you make people's days with your comments.  Justine--i've known you forever and cherish our friendship.  Katie and Carolyn-you 2 crack me up every day with you conversations...Chelsea--even though we pretend to hate each other--i hope you know i love you.  Flo---what can i say--you're hilarious.  Alina-congrats on winning the scholarship comp.  you deserve it.  Brittany-it has been tons of fun in kearneys with you--i'll remember the day we came in our sv costumes forever--classic.  Last but not least Kensie-you amaze me.  Keep the spirit of the group alive next year and blast out an amazing solo for when i come see the shows--i kow you can.  Noah-I remember 7th and 8th grade...and treasure those times--i'll be sure to show you those notes sometime soon.  G-congrats on best performer last night---and you are amazing--as much as you seem like you dont want people to know--you really are...Marc and Adam...you 2 never fail to make me laugh. It very refreshing to have you guys around.  Berg Chris Yenndo, Keith and Maxy...You 4 are quite possibly 4 of my favorite sound vibe men.  I love you to pieces.  Mikko and Kevin-crack ups--ou 2 are so silly its great--i love that you guys can do whatever you want and not care what others say.  Paulo, Christian and Tyler-I think you know why i grouped you 3 together--special times have been had...Christian---red is the color of...what now? Paolo- You are a great leader and how come no one ever knew you were a great singer.  Tyler and Aaron-I am so glad you joined our family this year--but so sad hat we didn't get the 4 full years with you boys--its been fun hanging out and everything.  Nick--you brighten up everyones days with hugs--and i love talking to you. ::wink wink::  Murdock squared-haha i finally get to use it on you!  I've known you both 4 siz years---Robous-you are fan-friggintastic--matt--you rock my world.  Last but not least--my clinty.  You have made show choir some of the best years of my life.  Youre funny and outgoing and a perfect peronality match for me--thats why we are such god friends.  I love being your friend and hope to stay that way forever.  You're so talented and will go far.  I AM GOING TO MISS ALL OF YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I LOVE YOU ALL--MY FAMILY--SOUND VIBES!

this was my first Chula comp, and i had a blast, it was so much fun performing and watching people perform and stuff. Whatever people's opinions on Defying Gravity, i mean come on i thought it was really cool, i saw her sneak onstage and i was pretty much like "WHAT?! NOW WAY!!" i thought it was really rad, thanks chula for that^-^ thats really great of you guys to do something like that. Congrats to everyone and stuff,
i hope everyone had a good time. Peace out and all choirs '05 rocked!

my mistake. I dont recall the numbers in the past but your most likely right haakon so i apologize for that error and for my horrible memory. and ashley, i wasn’t speaking for hart. I was speaking for the people that i talked to. I also just expressed how I felt. This is just another example of people not knowing what their talking about and jumping the gun and accusing things half-cocked. you can say sorry now or later ash.

Doug shut ur trap ok? Hart loved what they did with Defying Gravity. It actually got me crying cause it brought back all the sound vibe memories of last year. Thank you SO much Chula for that tribute. It was absolutely beautiful. It truely was a great way to end the evening of my last competition ever.
Congrats to burbank. You guys are strong competitors. And a BIG shout out to my homies POWERHOUSE!! I'm gonna miss you guys like no other. You guys are like family to hart and i will remember all of you forever.

Now for my Sound Vibes..........
We have worked so so hard this year and even though we didnt get 1st place, You all are number 1 in my heart. I'm so proud of each and everyone of you. Thank you for making this year a special one and I wish you all luck with your future years.

Why I had temporary esp is because nothing like that has ever happened before?
340344

That's not a question, so I'm not sure why you would use a question mark, but I digress...

They have, in fact, done something like this before - in 2002 they performed "Man In The Mirror" and brought out soloist Todd Robinson from the solid year that Burbank performed it, to which the crowd went nuts - and they also performed "Seasons Of Love" one year as a bonus extra song at SoCal which Bonita Vista originally performed and had immense success with. I will say that if they had just copied Hart and that was it, then I don't think there would have been any point... but the fact that they graciously incorporated Ashley into the number made it really special, especially with Hart being back in the SoCal audience again. It's a really interesting idea - to celebrate a past show choir success song, and feature the soloist that really made it magical - and I actually think it's a really neat way to pay tribute to the group. Certainly no one else has done anything like that before, and I bet Ashley felt amazing after getting the chance to be onstage again in front of an audience where what she did was truly appreciated. I say kudos to Chula Vista.

I shoulda figured people wouldn’t understand what I said and assume a bunch of different things but 1st. Mr. A, I don’t have anything against you or your competition. As a matter of fact, I really like socal AND MA. (this year and previous years past) In regards to defying gravity, I didn’t say I didn’t like it, (assumption #1) I just eluded to it being a bad omen.(3rd harry potter book) Ask the any of the people around me, I said after the song, “oh sorry guys you’re gonna get 2nd place.” Why I had temporary esp is because nothing like that has ever happened before? I was left with a very strange feeling, that’s all. The 2nd thing I said is ambiguous but didn’t clearly state that I wasn’t happy with placement. (assumption #2) My saying was/is/will is, “its just old men’s opinions!” The starwars quote meant that Powerhouse was 1st place for three years in a row and they were dethroned. Now you can say that I’m saying burroughs is light and good and Burbank is dark and evil and you would be slightly correct. Just keep in mind that I’m dating the ph soprano section leader, but I also think that the empire rocks. You decide. Another point of mine is, everyone did NOT like the defying gravity number. (assumption #3) A lot of people did like it. People that I thought that wouldn’t like it, did and vice versa. Finally I did have fun at socal, (assumption #4) so please don’t tell me what I do and don’t like. That's very offensive to me.

this hasn't been editied, its been P.C.ed

Wait I'm confused how can Los Alamitos Xtreme get best male sound when they aren't listed in the placings.  Did they get fourth place?  I know the caption awards don't determine placings but last year everyone got a placing.  Changing this year?
340314

The judge's deliberated and picked that caption awards among other ones. Extreme was their choice, obviously for a reason known to them. It was not neccesarily based on the score sheets. As far as placings, no, everyone did not place. First through third place was given in the men's and women's division and first through fifth place was given in the mixed division.

WHAT????? Why would you post something like that?
That was a tribute to our great friends of HART! We got Gail's and Ashley's blessing because they GOT IT and thought it was a great idea... Obviously YOU did not! It also seems that EVERYONE else in the audience understood that we paid a special tribute to Hart...

I thought it was a great highlight of one of the BEST nights of show choir! Whether you agreed with the placings or not... ALL the groups were fantastic.... The place was packed.... Everyone supported everyone.... and most of all everyone had fun.... except you.

I do not appreciate your post pal.....

I will post my thoughts on the event when I recover from the exhausting past 2 days....
