Petal and south jones has fallen off? What's that mean? Petal hasn't had the best year so far 1st ru at south and 3rd ru at albertville but south jones GC at tallasee comp and 2nd ru at albertville don't really see where they have fallen off?
I've been around show choir my whole life and this is going to be one of the most competitive weekends I can remember. I can't wait til I get there! Everyone do well and have fun!
This might be the most wide-open competition season we've had in a long time here in the South. So far, five competitions, five different Grand Champions:
*South Jones "Company" - Tallassee's Capitol City Classic
*Albertville "Center Stage!" - South Jones's show choir Invitational
*Clinton "Attaché" - PRCC's MS show choir Contest
*Opelika "Ovations" - Albertville's Diamond Classic
*Enterprise "Encores" - Opelika's Southern Showcase
It's unfortunate that all these groups won't be competing in the same place at any point this year, could've been a great one to watch.
Still really looking forward to this weekend. This is always my favorite competition to attend, and this year's lineup looks to be a pretty entertaining one. South and Opelika have both beaten each other out for GC's, and Petal is getting better and better every week. Not to mention that this will be Pascagoula's best chance to put their stamp on an impressive Finals placement this year.
I'm not sure about now, but I know in years past the winner of the small division was guaranteed a spot in finals. Taking that into consideration, I'm thinking:
GC: Clinton
1RU: Tupelo/Opelika
2RU: Tupelo/Opelika
3RU: South Jones/Petal
4RU: Pascagoula
If I'm not mistaken, this is no longer the case. The five Finalist groups are just the five highest scoring groups of the day, regardless of division.
