Back on topic, never underestimate Carmel's uncanny ability to come out of nowhere at the end of the contest season and blow everyone out of the water.

We do not need those kind of assumptions being made on these boards please. I know for a fact the Wheaton area is a very respectible area, and so are the other suburbs of chicago I have been to.

There are no assumptions being made, I've lived in Chicago and I am keenly familiar with the high schools. The guy I was replying to didn't say anything about the suburbs. It was a light-hearted joke, you'll get over it.

How would you predict the contest outcome?

Well I have not seen two or three of them, not sure.

But from what I know of:

GC: WV

For you to make this sort of predicition, you must not of seen all these groups and who they went against this year and placed in a competition.

This should be like a mini Fairfield! I can't wait!!
To be honest, I could call this about the same as Fairfield.
I count 10 groups that could make finals myself, and GC could go to at least 4 of them.
If I get to go to this, it would probably pretty much make my week. And it's already a 3 day school week to begin with.
Bradeyg, a schedule is at the Event Website posted above.

If you know anything about Chicago city high schools, this is for the best. It's hard to concentrate on the SAT's with stab wounds and a missing wallet.

I live 45 minutes from this FAME Orlando contest on the same day, but instead I'm flying to Chicagoland to see this. It will be a great contest. It's obviously not going to be a Fairfield, but Wheaton-Warrenville has a very long list of high-caliber, consistent groups in their respective regions. With most contests there are only a handful of groups I'm interested in seeing, but this is completely different. I'm excited.

For the record, I just checked if I could take the SAT at a Chicago high school instead... grrrrrrrr!

WTF.
If I wasn't taking the SAT this Saturday, our family would have been taking a road trip down to Chicago for the extended weekend. And I would have somehow weaseled my way here. fml.
Predictions are impossible... just sayin'.
