I heard the V&S video that shot Arcadia had our set up as their promo for the quality of their videos at their site, but then they took it down. Either that or he was just watching old Pop Show footage on YouTube.

Just saw Burroughs. I really like the show. Like everyone said, shows are always better live. I just wasn't feeling the energy, but that's because it wasn't the real thing. Singing and choreography was great though. I'm interested to see how things pan out.

How where you able to see the show?
I would like to see it again

Wait for someone to put the finals DVD up.

Or, rather, buy the DVD. With all of these groups, it will be worth it.

I'd still like to see it...most of us outside of CA never get a chance to see those groups live

Exactly. I won't be going to Chicago, so I won't be seeing it live anyway, so it's either this way or no way.

haha
ps hi chris
haha

oh my goodness orbie, i dropped you off like ten minutes ago and youre already on scc. seriously? haha. and Amy, I'm certainly not going to debate over which Powerhouse year is better, cause it's kinda silly, I just want to point out that I don't think we have so much more talent as you stated from all the juniors. The talent was amazing then too, remember les mis =)
and if it hasn't been stated enough, I am so excited.

Anything that can be put online, as with any other choir, would not do it justice
The youtube thing does not represent a live performance.

well except after the fact, then whoever was right had the "correct" prediction, right? ;)
I love you amy, but I am disagreeing because there were so many amazing people in Powerhouse my freshman year. Our show is very different this year, and perhaps more impactful because of that. I can't really compare the two shows i guess because i don't ever get to watch us from the audience this year haha. BUT I loved the 2005 set, and if I were to make a connection, I think this years set may just be taking some of the intense emotion from "Earth Song" and channeling it into the entire set.
I am so ridiculously excited for this competition and I echo the kid that asked if next week could just come sooner! I also think it's really telling that everyone's predictions are so different, I can't wait to see everyone in person, we all know you-tube never compares.

see you in the windy city!! =)

Maybe this isn't the place for this, but here goes:

I've seen both shows live. There was probably an equal amount of talent (I'm biased on that part), but far less emotion.

This show makes more sense to me, the costumes are a lot better, etc.

I think it's just show choir evolving, though.

If that Powerhouse and Powerhouse 2008 duked it out, I think that this year's would win. I wasn't in (literally) a physical state of shock after I saw them. I was literally shaking and everything after I saw you guys.

I wonder what thread has the record for pre-competition posts. Or even the record for posts period. Either way, I see this one taking it out by a mile LoL. Already at 16 pages and just under a week until the competition. The prior record holder for a competition was probably Fairfield from last year. But I could very well be wrong.

EDIT: So the record so far stands at 29 pages in the Fairfield topic from last year. That's as far as I know, though.
