Don't count out Nitro for a top 3 spot. Who knows how this will go?!? I am looking forward to seeing the results.

i agree. after the results of beavercreek i would think that nitro is about to prove themselves as a new powerhouse show choir.

Predictions:

GC: Center Grove - BC
1RU: Olentangy - BV
2RU: Marysville - BB
3RU: Nitro
4RU: Medina
5RU: Garfield Heights

I am very familiar with all these groups and I think it could go any way. This will most likely come down to who the judges are. CG has very good shows and is probably the most solid. Knowing Olentangy well I think they probably would have improved significantly since Marysville and being at Findlay I think they will be in the top 2. Don't count out Nitro for a top 3 spot. Who knows how this will go?!? I am looking forward to seeing the results.

I can't think of a time that CG has come to Ohio and placed lower than 1st or 2nd runner up. I may be mistaken though.

Though I was not in attendance at Marysville, I received a plethora of reports on the groups that competed. Based on those observations, I think the following results are possible.

GC - Center Grove
1RU - Marysville
2RU - Olentangy
3RU - Medina
4RU - Garfield Heights
5RU - Beavercreek

Vocals - Olentangy
Choreo - Center Grove
Band - Medina/Marysville

I've never seen Center Grove live, and haven't particularly cared for their shows when I see them online, but there is no doubt that they are a very successful Andy Haines group. If I recall correctly they sometimes have a slow start to their season, but it's also very possible that they blow into Ohio with a bang. I think it's likely that they will place in the top two and win the choreography caption.

Marysville has a great show this year, but I'm unsure of the group's level of polish and preparedness at this time. The band was rough last time I saw them, so I can easily see Medina taking that caption - though I'm also unsure if their band is nearly as good as those under the direction of Bianchi.

I've heard that Olentangy is not as clean or interesting as last year, though I've also heard that their vocal sound is amazing. Since it is Findlay that will host the competition, I can easily see Olentangy placing in the top two and taking the vocal caption.

Olentangy does have a strong show this season though. I'll be interested in the outcome of this competition.

I'm going to go with these predicts.

GC- Center Grove "CG Sound System"
1RU-Marysville "Swingers Unlimited"
2RU-Olentangy "Keynotes"
3RU-Medina "Encore Entertaiment Co"
4RU-Beavercreek "Friends"
5RU-Garfield Heights "Music Express"

BV-This will be close but I feel that Marysville will probably come out on top. CG and Marysville have quite different sounds so this caption will be interesting. Olentangy could def. challenge here too.

BC-CG will take this one easily. Of all these competing groups they prob have the best overall dance technique and most interesting actual choreo.

BB-I love Marysville's band so I think they will come out on top here. CG's band is mostly adults so they probably won't be eligible.

The top three overall should be close.

as of the other day that was the unofficial list that I posted above, here it is again:

Ada Varsity Singers
Beavercreek Friends
Center Grove C.G. Sound System
Columbia City Heat/ Lights
Cory Rawson Impressions
Crestview Knight Vision
Garfield Heights Music Express
Marysville Swingers Unlimited
Medina Encore Entertainment
Nitro Show Cats
Olentangy Keynotes - (Grand Champions in 2008)
River Valley Music Company/New Addition
Wapakoneta Singsations/Starlettes

After seeing some of the groups this weekend these are my predictions:

GC: Center Grove "C.G. Sound System"
1RU: Marysville "Swingers Unlimited"
2RU: Olentangy "Keynotes"
3RU: Medina "Encore Entertainment Co."
4RU: Garfield Heights "Music Express"
5RU: Beavercreek "Friends"

BV:Center Grove
BC:Marysville
BB:Center Grove, that is if they are allowed to win b/c don't they usually hire a band?

I think the top three will be very close and could go any way. I have never seen Center Grove personally, but I have seen videos and I know their reputation for being a very solid group. Good Luck to all of the competing groups, and hopefully I will be watching from the audience

Actually, I love the drive to Findlay High School. Findlay is like a mecca in the middle of nowhere... lol.

I agree, the ride to Findlay is not all that bad, atleast from the Cleveland area! It's mainly turnpike then Route 75S. There are plenty of corn fields and cows, but the rise is sort of relaxing and peaceful.

After last year I don't think Olentangy's win would be much of an upset.

I disagree. Beating Fairfield was an amazing feat. but... beating Center Grove and Marysville at the same competition would most certainly secure them as a top 2 or 3 group in Ohio.
