Brea Olinda beat John Burroughs last night, so I expect them to make some noise at this competition.

Slightly adjusted schedule came out today as well as changing the "2nd stage Finals" to be the top 3 scores from Open and Single-Gender combined

Most competitions take 6 finalists and don't hold separate finals rounds for the women's or prep groups at all.

Original plan on website said that top scoring Single-Gender and open group would perform in exhibition. before finals but they decided to change a little since second stage grew.

They had a women's finals in 2017 as well.

Tracy- Seeing as how my open/honest & direct response to your inquiry via a private email yesterday didn't seem to satisfy you, which lead you to come on this forum in an attempt to make the issue public and thus "stir the pot", I will paste here my exact response to you yesterday so there is 100% transparency and so that the public at large knows how and why we make the decisions we do. Im sorry that you are so upset, and I can only hope in time, you will come to see that we have in fact made great efforts to ensure that every group that attends one of our events has every opportunity to succeed. Here is the exact email: "Tracy, Im not sure that anything I can say is going to get you the response you are looking for. That said, I will reiterate that we have a very direct and frequent line of communication to every single director who is attending each of our events, not only this year, but every year. I can assure you I have personally spoken to each and every director in attendance in Nashville multiple times throughout the school year, and not a single one of them has voiced the concern you are voicing. I can tell you are passionate about the issue and appreciate your enthusiasm, but please know that this isn’t just about one school’s program, we must take into account the entire country. The south does show choir very different than California, Indiana largely considers their Single-Gender groups varsity, while nearly every other state does not, in Iowa the concept of a Single-Gender group is relatively rare as most of their second groups are comprised of both guys and girls and they call themselves “prep” groups, in some states kids are able to double and be in both a jv/prep/Single-Gender group AND be in the top/varsity group, in other states that is strictly prohibited by state high school activities associations. Trust me when I tell you, careful consideration and contemplation goes into every decision we make when trying to create fair and equitable events for ALL students from ALL states and ALL programs."

Actually, I posted here before I exchanged emails with you, and notice I didn’t continue the conversation here! I thanked you for the information, even though I didn’t agree with it, and can certainly quote my emails in an attempt to show that I was very professional and listed statistics. I would appreciate if you wouldn’t post my personal emails to you in a public forum in the future! Very unprofessional!! No intent to stir any pot at all, sir, and I wish you would have checked time stamps, as again, I posted here first and then let it go after your prompt responses to me AFTER this initial post. Sorry show choir community, no intent to stir any pot on my part, and I apologize if my post above did that.

This competition will offer both a Mixed and Single-Gender finals, which as has been pointed out previously, is not very common at any competition and gives those Single-Gender groups an extra chance to shine. Let's appreciate that and leave individual criticisms to emails, please.

Totally agree! Please note, as the moderator, that I didn’t remotely continue the conversation after my original inquiry on Wednesday morning, which, as I said, was BEFORE I ever spoke with the person via email.

Full schedule added. This competition will have both a single-gender finals (3 groups) and a mixed finals (6 groups). Also keep in mind that there are two performance venues at this event, so multiple choirs will be performing at the same time depending on which stage they are on. Looks to be an absolutely incredible day of show choir!

It will be interesting to see how the Fairfield v. Zionsville battle plays out first at Franklin Central then two weeks later here. Definitely two great choirs

So sad I won't be able to go and support my group! But this competition looks like it will be a good one!
