Well some people are expecting CR Washington to do well here, and I wouldn't expect them to do as well at Kennedy. Urbandale and Xavier IMO are two of the best groups in the state this year, and Central is not far behind at all. Momentum and Muscatine have also had very successful seasons. There might be more groups at Great River, and there will be a fight for finals, but I think finals at Kennedy could be a higher standard.

I don't. lol I think the caliber of groups fighting for finals is going to make it much more interesting than Kennedy. Day round and night round could be all over the place at GR. I feel Kennedy, it will stay close to the same.

I think CR Kennedy could end up being a higher quality competition though.

I really think that this one is better than both those competitions... and I was there with Muscatine for Waukee, so I know first hand.

I think I'm going to agree. Predictions never are an indication about how the competition is going to go, but most people here are placing the 3rd place Benton group low in finals. I think CR Kennedy could end up being a higher quality competition though.

I'm not being biased just because this is my alma mater's competition... but I really do believe that "Great River 2010" is the best line-up out of all Iowa competitions this year.

Hey, I don't know who you heard it from but I would not be expecting Africa, this weekend.

Well Jay, I guess it might depend on whether or not your Minnesotan accent actually sounds remotely close to the real thing or whether it does not.

What song is the possible insertion? A rewritten "Africa"?

Oh! Chris and/or Nick, if either of you have the Benton program would you bring it to D-Port so I could get set lists?

LoL. Officially read. I will definitely bring it...if I come. I am a little stressed this week...lot's piling up and I am not positive I can make it...but going to do my best!

So, I am coming down for the Day for this competition. Unfortunately I have to work at 11pm Saturday, so I will be leaving. I need results though, so I will be checking often.

I usually sit on the ground floor, house right of the center aisle about 10 rows in. My acrophobia hits really hard in dark settings so I can't sit in the balcony to see pretty pictures.

Nick had purchased one, i will text him in case he doesn't read this, or i can have him text me everything for you

And where do you plan on sitting Travis?

And I believe Africa was supposed to be in the show earlier so i would make that my guess.

I'm mostly interested to see how well Momentum performs the song they will be adding into their set for this competition! Honestly, I can see placements going a lot of different ways at this one.

are they for sure doing it? i hadn't heard either way, but i didnt think they were going to.

also travis.... I can do a Minnesota accent, does that make me cool too

Personally I'm sure they'll get more points, because it's a heck of alot harder, diction-wise, than it is in English.

**a lot. +1 Haakon point!

And Waconia people should be cool, they're from Minnesota. They get awesome accents.

I don't see how doing a foriegn song gets you docked points. Maybe if you perform it bad, which you deserve that. If anything you gain them. Momentum performs these songs very well and you can understand what they say. This competition will probly mean the most to any of the washington kids, so just because one group is "doing work" that doesn't mean everyone else is not.
