This contest looks great. I think that it makes sense for Protege to go after lunch break, however I could see them being at the tail-end of the prep blocks before lunch.
Mr Temple, Waterloo West has only been competing for two years. They are a group with immense talent and a great director. They should be competing for a finals spot. SuFaWa (or Sioux Falls Washington) is a former Damon group (this shows my age). I saw them at Great River last year and felt that they sang well and performed the heck out of their show. I found their show to be very memorable and entertaining.

Is there no more Friday night prep category?
I think they had so many groups defect to the Waukee competition that it didn't make sense to split it into two days. There also was a conflict with a home basketball game the last couple of years which made parking kind of a nightmare and no concessions down in the cafeteria area on Friday night.
I'm sorry that Supernova's numbers are down forcing this decision, but logistically it's better for us. I know my students are disappointed that they don't get an overnight trip for Linn-Mar, but trust me...I won't miss chaperoning at the hotel and it is going to save us A LOT of money.
It should still be a dog fight for those top few spots. I don't know much about Waterloo or Sioux Falls Washington, but Bemidji, Kennedy, Wash, and Totino are always a challenge.
does anyone else think it's weird that Protege goes after the lunch break, when no other prep group does? I would much rather have High Style go after the lunch break with In Step rather than give one group an unfair advantage.... That's just me though.
I actually really like having it all on the same day. This will be the first time since 2003 that I will watch the prep groups at Linn-Mar!

I don't think Ankeny is returning this year. I wonder if Prairie, Xavier, or either of the Iowa City schools will be in attendance?
Xavier will not be returning to Supernova this season. We will be at Waukee instead. And based on Adam's post in the Waukee topic, it looks like City High will also not be coming back to Linn-Mar.
So these are the ones that I know have said they are coming:
CR Kennedy
CR Washington
Urbandale
Bemidji
Totino
That's a pretty good lineup right there.
