It's hard to really say what groups usually go because it depends on the year. Many Ohio groups like Marysville, Findlay, Piqua, Teays Valley, Beavercreek usually go and also some large out-of-state groups go as well.

I've never been to Ohio. And it'd be really cool to see how different states do it.

I'm getting excited...

You've never been to "Great River".
I will eventually! I can't wait to see Burroughs. This competition gets bigger and better every year!

You are not mistaken.
John Burroughs has five show choirs, all compete and all but M@W also do traditional concert choir literature year round as well
"Powerhouse" - advanced mixed, aka Chamber Choir
"Sound Sensations" - advanced girls, aka Madrigals or "Mads"
"Sound Waves" - intermediate mixed
"Decibelles" - intermediate girls
"Men@Work" - all guys
