hmmmm......Jorge you've got some pretty fierce sources! I was almost certain no one knew we were attending this contest.

Anyway, LC will be there with both our mixed and female ensembles.

Once we're full, I'll announce all schools competing. We're still accepting groups!

Looks to be a great contest this year, we're very excited about it!

Well, it sounds like it's time to start a new tradition!

This is true, most Ohio competitions will give the nod to women's groups but will only do so by giving them an exhibition performance.

Many of the out-of-state competitions I've been to take the top group from the women's division and throw them into the finals mix. I assume due to all of this conversation that this isn't the case here...

That's not common for Ohio and Indiana. Ususally the women's winner gets and Exhibition performance.

The women's division just has a single round. There are no finals. I would love to see them compete against the mixed groups. I do get what you are saying though Haakon I just had high hopes. haha

Hm. Do they do that out there? They've definitely gone toe to toe with mixed-gender groups before, but I've always felt that judging a women's group (or men's, for that matter) against a mixed group is pretty difficult to do. It's just an entirely different group composition. Perhaps they will be allowed into finals if they win their division (or however this particular event does it), but at least for the preliminary round I think they should (and would want to) compete against the other womens groups at the event.

In the past I know SS has beaten or have come close to beating some good midwestern choirs. I feel like the women's class is pretty easy for them. (At least if it's the same as the last few years) Just thought it would be neat to see how they did in the mixed class (if the competition would let them of course)
