as I've heard it said over and over:
"whoever sings the best will win this competition"
which will most likely be Linn-mar. ATSC might put up a fight for BV otherwise, Linn-Mar will win BV and therefore the comp.
Happiness will probably win BC...or also Linn-Mar.
Regardless...."anything can happen,"
so we'll just have to wait 5 days to see!!!!

If Linn-Mar wins Choreography over Happiness I will poop my pants

I'm probably one of the only people on here who gets to see all these groups multiple times a year. Personally, I think Westside has a better vocal technique than Linn-Mar. Head-to-head Kennedy has the advantage over Linn-Mar. I believe Linn-Mar has only beat them at Mo-Show in 05 and 09, while Kennedy won Benton 02, Great River 07 08 09, Mo-Show day round 05, Johnston 08 09... etc. Linn-Mar also only beat Kennedy in 05 after hi-low scores were dropped.

Linn-Mar won the vocal war last year, but Kennedy won at the beginning of the year and in recent years.

Linn-Mar's band is ALWAYS great, and the only real competition they will have with band is Westside. Too completely different bands. Linn-Mar is much more guitar and drum based which can make them sound big, while Westside is more horns, and more of a full sound overall. Thinking about it, Linn-Mar's band will probably impress more in the auditorium, even though Westside tends to have more of a complete fan

But this is the first time competing here for Kennedy and Westside, and Linn-Mar has a history here. That always makes a difference. We cannot predict how Westside and Happiness's vocals will sound in the auditorium.

Probably if you look at head-to-head results Westside has the advantage. I believe Westside and Linn-Mar have only competed against each other once though... Onalaska 04 which admittedly was not Tenth Street's best year.

Anyways my rambling is just more reasons this is going to be a close competition. Just things to think about. Not trying to bash. There are just so many nuances to all these choirs and it's really evenly matched. I'm gonna stick with my predictions, though.

Too many times I've seen a group take Best Vocals and not win Grand Champions. Heck, I've even seen a group win Best Vocals AND Best Choreography and not win Grand Champions. So "anything can happen" is by far the truest of the above statements.

I might make it up for finals on Saturday, but I'll have to wait and see how things work out.

Whatever I can't keep track. You would know that though Besides the four of us don't really count. There's really only four "real" soloists.

Only six days away! Almost five now!

Now it's almost four!!!!!

There is the 4 in the 4th number plus Pat. So that's five. Plus Jimmy, Shaun, and Noah. I count 8.

We rarely agree... yet always find common ground.

I disagree... by the end of the season, Linn Mar was far ahead of Prairie.

Actually, they didn't win in 2008. Cedar Rapids Prairie won that year

I'm thinking right now that I predicted Linn-Mar to be too low. They have won viterbo how many years in a row now? 3? and last year was just as competitive as this. it's really going to be such a great close competition!!!!

I really hope one of xavier's 8 male soloists or 4 female soloists win an award.

It's gonna be me... the judges can't resist a two measure solo

(Also we only have seven guys with solos... unless you count)
