When's the last time fairfield and Loveland have gone head to head?

It looks to me like it was at South Dearborn in 2011, where Fairfield won

South Dearborn Opening Knight Showcase 2011.

edit: Correction - Fairfield and Loveland both competed in the summer of 2012 at the World Choir Games hosted in Cincinnati. Fairfield earned Gold and World Champion status while Loveland earned Silver.

You are correct, Loveland has not competed at Marysville previously.

Thought so, well I'm excited to see them as well as all of the other groups at Marysville!

I believe Loveland has never competed at Marysville. I want to say Piqua last came mid to later 2000s?

I think it's interesting Showcase is capped at 15 choirs this year where in the past there have been closer to 20 groups attending. Regardless, it still looks like a fine early competition.
Alex said registered so far, so I wouldn't say that's absolutely the cap on it. Either way, you're absolutely right!

My bad - for clarification I was referring to the Showcase website that says it's currently full and folks can join the waiting list.

This definitely struck me as odd, also. After discussing with a few Findlay friends I found out that the state OMEA competition is scheduled for the same day. It's merely a timing conflict, but it stinks either way. :/

First Edition will not be going to Luers this year due to the OMEA District Large Group Adjudicated Event. We also cannot defend our GC at the Solon Invitational which is also held on March 7. Our choirs are the heart of our program. Therefore, we will be attending the OMEA Large Group event.

And no Solon/Twinsburg?

FFE only attended Showcase 2 of the last 5 years. Not a huge surprise when they generally only compete 4-5 times a year and already have 5 competitions planned for 2014-2015. (Ada, Churubusco, Medina, Grove City, SCN). I'd say it's more surprising that Luers isn't on their calendar at this point.

It has also been a while since Fairfield and Piqua have gone head-to-head. There was discussion about that in last years Cabell Midland topic before Piqua withdrew. It's been at least 5+ years. Our database is a bit wonky prior to 2009, but they definitely met up several times in the mid 2000s (2004-2005).

And no Solon/Twinsburg?
No Findlay?
That could be quite a long list if we mention all the show choirs not attending. FFE only attended Showcase 2 of the last 5 years.
