Does Dr. Jan Glann have any show choir background? Has she adjudicated at Findlay FEst or any other show choir competitions in past years? Just curious. Forgive my ignorance .

I cannot WAIT! It looks to be an exciting competition. I really do think Nitro will make finals, I noticed some people have counted them out. I'm predicting a win for Marysville, though.... GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Thanks!

What's with all the negativity & poor sportsmanship? Nitro's show is very different, and you either love it or hate it, but as we all know, you don't necessarily have to love the concept to appreciate the talent. How many of you have performed shows that you weren't crazy about? We all have! That being said, I want to congratulate Nitro for their grand championship. I'm sure they've been around long enough to know things can change when competing against different groups & with different judges; however, you don't win Grand Champion without much, much talent and hard work, especially against the awesome groups I saw at Beavercreek! You have much to be proud of, and I think I speak for most of us here, Congratulations on a job well done!!!!!

Thank you very much. Our kids now realize that they do have a target on their head after winning Beavercreek. We have told them to expect for negative as well as positive things to be thrown their way. We realize that Findlay is and always has been a very tough competition. We were thrilled last year to make finals with some very good groups competing.

All I can say as a parent is that I am extremely proud of my son, the rest of the showcats, the crew, the band, the staff, and especially Ms. Amy and David Legg. Hold your head high and DO WORK!

Dr. Jan Glann is director of the Huron Summer Theatre. Her specialty is choreography/movement. She has choreographed musical productions and events around the midwest. She has a keen eye for movement and show design. Findlay FEst uses 6 judges during the prelims. 2 vocal, 2 choreography/movement, 1 overall show (vocals, choreo/movement/show design, instrumental) and 1 instrumental. For the finals they add the 2 solo judges. This adds a freshness to the judging panel as the added 2 have not seen any of the finalists before. All 8 judge all aspects of the performances. Hope this helps a little.

Don't they also drop the highest and lowest scores for each group during finals as well?

Was Lakeland at BCreek?
Because it sounds like the kid who's bashing judges is just bitter.

Ron Morgan didn't only judge choreography.. He judged vocals and show concept too.. The program misled many people.... The 2 Vocal judges and Choreography judge scored vocals, choreography, and show concept... And I'm not assessing Ron Morgan.. He is a good judge, but he had to watch 3 aspects of the show instead of 1, so he couldn't concentrate on choreography like he normally would....

I hate that this competition misleads parents and schools by not letting them know in the programs that the judges don't just judge one category...

It's very misleading...

And I'm not attacking David Legg and his entire career, I just believe that his material has become more theatrical, and crazy.. And not inovative and new... If I wanted to go to the theatre, I would do just that... He has a brilliant career as a whole, and that is why he is a judge at competitions... Don't take my comments the wrong way..

I'm sorry you feel we "mislead" parents and schools - we sent all the schools the judges scoresheets in advance...I have all the scoresheets and I think he did an amazing job. If you have some constructive suggestions for us at Beavercreek we are always open to them....personally, I loved your group. I am the event coordinator....we had a great event...we are happy for all our winners, particularly Nitro's first GC...lets help each other, not tear down....
