gaaah...im sorry westside and brodhead. I know if it were my group, we would be about ready to kill someone. And ATSC, I know i speak for all of xhil when i say i was looking forward to seeing your show tomorrow.

We have been told that both Omaha Westside and Brodhead have dropped out and our performance time has been bumped from 3:00 to 2:30. I'm assuming C.R. Kennedy, Milton, and Linn-Mar are an hour earlier than previously scheduled?

Now, 6th place can thank Omaha Westside for their spot in finals.

The weather in La Crosse is great right now! I hope everyone makes it here safe! Good luck to all the competing groups tomorrow!! I think it's going to turn out to be a close one!

p.s. ATSC: are you guys really not coming anymore??

The weather on the interstate between Omaha and Des Moines was causing traffic to not be advised this morning. That, paired with the low wind chills made many parents and school officials weary of the travel. As luck would have it, about an hour after ATSC cancelled driving was upgraded to normal on the interstate.

Luckily for Omaha, they don't have to take the I-29 trek that Sioux City East would have had to have taken to get to cross the state. Northwest Iowa was hit a bit harder than Southwest Iowa. I29 was, in fact, closed near Sloan for parts of today, and most highways in NW Iowa (including 3 coming into LeMars, 25 miles northeast of SC) are closed. Sioux City schools canceled friday classes by 7 PM thursday night. It's just flat out terrible out.

With Sioux City East dropping out of Onalaska, and Omaha Westside having to make pretty much the same drive to come here... any word on a change in their status? (Please say no)

It's to be decided on this morning. The group is supposed to leave at 11am. I'll keep everyone posted.

I predict neither Linn Mar or Kennedy win best vocals.

Have you ever seen Kennedy live jacob? They are a powerhouse. I think they will for sure win choreo, but I really think it is between linn-mar and Happiness, not ATSC. I really don't see ATSC beating either of the other two in vocals. I do however stand stand by Happiness taking BC fo sho. But as for vocals, I'm sticking with the first two that I mentioned. You never know though. We'll see! I am excited to hear about it afterwards!! I will see both linn-mar and Happiness at Linn-Mar's comp so I am PUMPED!!

last time Happiness and ATSC faced (Johnston 08) ATSC got 3rd and Kennedy 6th, and I'm sure got a higher vocal score than Kennedy (who's vocals were great that year). To dismiss ATSC's vocals is a serious error. Doran Johnson knows how to get his kids to sing.

as I've heard it said over and over:
"whoever sings the best will win this competition"
which will most likely be Linn-mar. ATSC might put up a fight for BV otherwise, Linn-Mar will win BV and therefore the comp.
Happiness will probably win BC...or also Linn-Mar.
Regardless...."anything can happen,"
so we'll just have to wait 5 days to see!!!!

My predictions:
Kennedy
Linn-Mar
ATSC
Xavier
Milton
Logan

I think someone else had these same ones earlier but I guess I still haven't really mastered the whole quoting thing on here yet. lol

Whatever I can't keep track. You would know that though Besides the four of us don't really count. There's really only four "real" soloists.

Only six days away! Almost five now!

2 bars is 2 bars...

The weather situation is threatening to cancel our preview show scheduled for tomorrow night...

Doesn't sound like it should affect Saturday though (knock on wood)

I watched them practice tonight and WOW is all i can say. 10th street u have come so far in the past two weeks amazing. The band will blow u away throughout the show but the fourth song and the closer are incredible.

SOOO good to hear! They have really stepped it up the last few times I was in Linn Mar working with both groups! So proud of them, and can't wait to hear how they do at Viterbo!!!
GOOD LUCK "InStep" and "10th Street Edition"

I've seen 10th Street's band, and they have more horns than you would be used to if you're familiar with a "typical" Linn-Mar show. Truly, the band is phenomenal. I have not heard any other combos of any other groups competing at Viterbo (besides ours of course ), but Linn-Mar's combo may be the best I've ever heard.
