Albertville- I did not expect your win at all.  To me, you guys didn't have a Grand Champion show.  Yes, it was well-executed and I couldn't find anything wrong with it, but it was hard for me to find things that I remembered as being really good (clean sweep of the captions?); I wasn't entertained.  Vocals were good in the beginning, the ballad, and the guys number.  From the girls' number on they got sort of weak.  I had a hard time understanding words that weren't repeated in the chorus.  The dancing in the closer was intense, but it seemed like we were watching a dance competition with vocal breaks, instead of the other way around.  The kicky-ripple-build thing in the closer was really, really good.  The whole train thing in the guy's number was really good.  The energy throughout the show didn't feel sincere; it felt like you were doing it because someone told you to.  Nevertheless, congrats on your win.  Good luck this season.

This is indeed going to be an interesting competition season.

I'm not tryin to argue, but, about the closer things... We competed last week, and the judges told us to ease up on our diction (you don't always want to hammer every T and K in your show). So we did, and the judges liked us changing it. And alllll the judges wanted us to put a cut in the closer (esp. with all the vocals in it), they thought it would be better to highlight our dancing at the end and then leave that in their mind. So, we did all that to please the judges, and if the judges at this comp had said to hammer out our t's and things then,.. well, we would have done that.

again thats not an arguement, i'm just sayin thats why it sounded like that. But, yeah, we do get tired in the closer.lol

Congratulations to eveyone! I had so much fun @ this competition.

Just a few comments:

Homewood - I liked your song selections. Ya'll always have the coolest songs. I was singing "What have you done for me lately" forever after the competition was over. Great girls feature.

South Jones - Great job! We have the same ballad!!! OMG! How cool is that!?!? I though those pink opener outfits were cool lookin'. Also great guys feature (as usual)!

Long Beach - I really enjoyed watching your show. Your costumes were so awsome.

West Jones- Congrats on getting first in your category. I liked the new costumes. I didn't get to see you in finals, but I saw you in pre-lims and you were definitely rocking the house. Everyone in my choir was singing "Turn aroooouund" (ala the male soloist in the ballad). Thanks for supporting us at the comp, and AWESOME luck at Opelika.

Homewood- The finals placements were definitely wierd... When I saw your finals performance, all I could do was say "Oh my god. They're really good." I think that you deserved much better than a 4th place finish. Everyone in the audience could tell that you guys were out to make a mark. The choreography was effective and clean. Vocally, y'all had definite dynamics and made it interesting. The only slow part was the swing-ish number (I've never been a fan). I loved the Homewood lights! I know that the season will turn around for you guys. Holla Lauren, Diana, and Chris.

The energy throughout the show didn't feel sincere; it felt like you were doing it because someone told you to. Nevertheless, congrats on your win. Good luck this season.

South Jones- When Long Beach was announced as 2RU, I thought to myself, "Ok, South Jones took it." When you guys were announced as 1RU, a puzzled look came across my face. This look became even more puzzled when you didn't win Best Choreo; you're South Jones, you ALWAYS win Best Choreo. I don't know what else to say, other than you guys were AMAZING. You had choreography that was clean as all get out and nice vocals. The judging at the whole Picayune competition just seemed off.

Long Beach- I am SO effing proud of you guys. I think that our pre-lims performance was a complete turn-around from our Petal practice thing, and our finals performance was a complete turn-around from pre-lims. Regardless of what the judges say, it was brought and we couldn't have done any better.

This is indeed going to be an interesting competition season.

Albertville- congratulations...i didn't really expect it to happen but hey...nice job...james- you rock!

South Jones- y'all definately put things in perspective when we saw y'all in prelims...awesome energy...very clean choreo (though not exactly my favorite to watch)....strong vocals...i didn't see y'all in finals...but y'all definately deserved to win prelims....congrats to cody! you sounded awesome!

West Jones- very energetic...very very south jones

Long Beach- AWESOME costumes.....vocals sounded good but i couldn't understand a lot of the words...ballad was great....i LOVED the backdrops and stuff...choreo looked a little on the easy side but it was definately clean.....go charles!

Picayune- when y'all started i was like "okay....i promise this isn't the same group i saw last year" y'all have improved so much and you were extremely nice hosts to us! thanks

Legacy- WOOOOHOOOO!!! the transformation from last thursday to this weekend was INCREDIBLE....thanks SO SO much for all the support...we definately could not have done it without y'all

Network- well....things didn't exactly go our way..but now we have some major inspiration and we know exactly what we need to do....congrats you guys!
