It's a little red machine where you can buy a pencil for a quarter. I would always buy a pencil for good luck.

I did this too and used it on my finals.

What's all this about a pencil machine in the cafeteria? Everybody mentions that, yet I am pretty sure that was not there when I went there...

OK, I just did a google image search for "high school musical cafeteria" and I have to say, I don't see the resemblance at all. I mean, besides the Grand Staircase, it is completely different. Different color scheme, different shape, different everything.

I've never watched HSM, so yet another reference about my own school that I don't understand.

I hate HSM. So by the transitive property of hate, I hate your cafeteria.

Don't like it? Fight me

This is also the competition with the pop nazi at the top of the stairs and the cafeteria that looks like HSM

I've never watched HSM, so yet another reference about my own school that I don't understand.

Also, here's a great article about Saturday's competition that appeared in the Madison newspaper today: Madison-area show choirs enjoy ‘Glee’-fueled moment in spotlight

I've also never watched Glee, so yet another reference I don't fully understand.

I didn't know MG's starting quarterback was in show choir. That means that the last three times MG has had an undefeated regular season in football, the quarterback has either been in show choir or jazz band. I guess the moral of the story is if you want to have a good football team, you need to have musically inclined players.

Sadly, I won't be.

Monona Grove is the place with the pencil machine in the cafeteria, right?

Ribiko: Tickets are day only $8, finals only $10, and all day with finals $14.00. Pretty good price, considering all the awesome show choirs that are going to be there.

I Got Rhythm: Onalaska was really good this year. Our room host kept telling us that they weren't that great, but they're much better than previous years. I'll be able to say more about their potential placing after I see Milton tomorrow in Janesville.

Can someone from Monona Grove tell me how much admission will be?

Also, I can't remember the last time I was so excited to see Monona Grove perform, that's so cool that they're doing Jai Ho!

Okay. Now I gotcha. I really hope they are a completely new group, I was disappointed last year.

No, but I've seen them once this year already at their own competition and thought they could've placed 3rd, MAYBE 4th. They are a completely new group from last year.

Man, people are going to be surprised to see Onalaska. I don't know if anyone can say anything to make them look better. They are a group that has gone from barely making finals, to being a contender for GC at every competition this year, in just half a season...I can't see them not making the top 3.

Onalaska has competed already?
